What album should I start with? If I like it I'll move on to more, but what should be my starter?

that album is amazing. i like "low" alot too.... but that's a different style (subteraneans (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZTkqNiVfTc) is a beautiful song. if it was a warm wet hole i would fuck it). i haven't heard all his stuff cause he has so many albums.

Start with Pin Ups, that way you don't have to hear any songs he wrote.
So you can focus on getting to know his voice, and then move on to his lyrics.

I'm so clever.

that is a good point

i love pin-ups personaly, it's a great rock n roll album and on top of that you get a glimpse into the influences that spawned bowie and the artist he was at that time

I'd go with Ziggy Stardust frst. It's his most accessible, except for maybe Let's Dance, which has some good stuff.

Heroes is really good. "Beauty and the Beast" and "Heroes" are amazing songs. I like "Joe the Lion," too, but can't always take the way he sang it.

Yeah. Bowie's someone I appreciate more than really like.

Tonight? That's almost as bad as Never Let You Down (or whatever it was called).

"Blue Jean" was okay, I guess.

This album looks great, I wonder why they waited 36 years to release it?

Personally, I think getting 1 or 2 of his "Best of" collections is the best way to get into Bowie. Find the tracks you like the most from those and check out the albums that spawned them. It's easy to get overwhelmed with an artist with a huge back catalogue like that.
