I'll definitely be seeing this one. But I generally like Apatow movies. At least the ones I've seen.
I'll be curious to know what you think of it, a-z.
Btw, how is it you're posting again on a semi-regular basis? Did you get a new job
*fingers crossed*

No new job. I'm at the library sending out resumes.
I've still got a few weeks before I'm in serious trouble.
The old man next to me just farted unashamedly. Leaned forward to do it and everything.

Yeah, library computer use blows. *pun intended*
The last time I did it 3 of the 4 people in my immediate vicinity were looking at porn.

Most propably it'll be shown at the Stockholm Filmfestival in November.
Most propably I will be volunteering there again this year so I'll see it for free.

"Time to go suck today's cock!"
There's some funny stuff in this. Franco is really good. By the end, it's over the top is a really nice way.
Some pretty gross stuff, where suddenly this comedy is spilling "real" blood.
A notch under Superbad.

so this movie is kinda about weed, right? You'll probably dig it; I'm not into the drug culture and even I found it hilarious.
If you ever wanted to watch a movie with a portion of comedic amateur action sequences that isn't the main focus, go see it.
Isn't Eddie from Grounded for Life in this? Fuck I miss that show.:(

Why would anyone be interested in discussing the plot of a stoner movie?
It's an hour and a half of stupid laughs, enjoy it and try not to think about it too much.

I didn't like the Red character. I know that was possibly the point, but I didn't like the actor, either.
That was a pretty dope fight, though. So to speak.

It got tom be a little too much/too obvious sometimes, but I guess that's the genre. Just when I was getting pretty sick of it, something
was genuinely funny again.

Well get used to him. He's in Tropic Thunder, Eastbound and Down (new HBO show), The Foot Fist Way, and Land of The Lost, all coming out in the next year. I'm not quite sure what the big deal is. He was around the office a lot that I was working in and he's super nice and funny but his characters are all the same.
I thought the movie was hilarious. Franco is amazing. I didn't like the end that much, felt it dragged quite a bit even for all the "action" happening but maybe that's just because I was stoned as fuck for the first half. good times

Tropic Thunder is the only thing on that list I'm interested in.
Land of the Lost!? Land of the Lost + Will Ferrell? Fuck that.

I just realized that James Franco needs the credit he seems to not be receiving; not once my mind told me that Saul was being played by Franco.

I love Franco. I love that he was in a Spiderman movie and he would rather be in grad school. I should watch my Freaks and Geeks DVDs again.
I'm thinking about seeing this movie but I probably won't.

It made a rainy saturday afternoon thoroughly enjoyable.
the random violence/gore was just like WTFFFFFFF. especially the foot part at the end.
seth rogan may now be on my top 10 favorite famous canadians list.
my movie high was quickly thrown out the window by my entering the mall afterwards and I entered some trendy store with a friend.
I picked up a hoodie and the 18ish year old salesgirl walked right up to me and said "we only have small and extra-small left in those, sorry"
and I just stood there aghast, which doesnt happen often. aka never.
so my friend piped in and said "Im not sure if you were trying to be rude, but perhaps you should watch the way you word things in the future so that you dont go offending potential customers who are now going to walk out of your store without purchasing anything"
and then I laughed my big ole fat ass off and we left the store.
and I wonder why I prefer thrift store shopping :/

I got a piece of popcorn stuck in my throat and had a severe coughing fit, so I'm pretty sure most of the theater suspected I was doing the same.

Supposedly at some release party, Seth got tossed out fo lighting up a joint.
Kinda ironic.
i reckon the black guy was the best. forget his name/too lazy to look it up; his outfit + his hair + his bordlerine gayness + his wristbands... he was the shit.
"SUP SERRRRRRNN! well lookie what we have here! you better bring your sexy ass here!" what happened next was genius. the random violence was like looking at rotten.com back in the day. you cringe at it anywhere else but you can't help but piss yourself in this movie.
two thumbs up.

I'm just not nuts about stuff like that. Seems pretty lazy and cheap.
The closest I've seen to something like that really working -- really tweaking stereotypes for humor -- is probably the cab driver in
Lebowski who really likes Eagles. That was totally out of left field.

Agreed.
(Still laughing about that Lebowski scene!)
:D
I enjoyed the flick- Franco was by far the high point for me- I thought he was great. The funny "action" sequences I had a bit of a problem with as they mostly consisted of people shooting each other (usually in the face). I dunno I didn't really find it that funny, wasn't offended or anything as I am as guilty as the next guy for loving me some gratuitous violence, BUT just seemed mostly ridiculous and maybe more egregiously- not that funny. thought it was good definitely not great though.

agreed x 2 but i love the way he got sensitive about shit. his character in knocked up was the same after he got blasted at the club. it's probably his 'money shot' in his acting...repetior(sp)? "i get the runs from the stress" classic stuff

TMZ has learned Craig Robinson -- Darryl the warehouse guy from "The Office" -- was arrested June 29 for possession of a multitude of drugs, including meth and ecstasy.
Cops in Culver City, Calif. say they pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation and found the drugs and the actor inside the car.
The L.A. County D.A. has charged Craig -- who also plays a henchman in "Pineapple Express" -- with possession of meth and ecstasy and being under the influence of cocaine, amphetamines and cannabinoids.
A rep for Robinson had no comment.

I laughed a lot at this movie, but I don't think it was very good. I think it was trying too hard to be a classic somehow, rather than just being one. James Franco was excellent though. unfortunately, I didn't really like Seth Rogen's character. I liked Red alright. I was pretty put off by the high school girlfriend thing which kinda tainted my opinion throughout. but the stuff with her family was hilarious. Ed Begley Jr. always makes me laugh for some reason.
anybody catch the goldeneye stuff with the guns during the climactic fight scene?
It should've been shorter and I think it could've been directed better too. oh well.
