The Olympics start at 08:08 local time...

Stockholm has the area code 08 so there's parties (http://www.alltomstockholm.se/StockholmsArtikel.aspx?bid=1248365&kid=2) all over town today.
They started off with free breakfast at Central Station and Globen at 08:08 local time, giving away 8-kringles (http://static.aos.se/images/AlltOm/stockholm/e552c486-be57-4766-ae1e-0b3f873a0f3a.jpg) (sort of danish pastries).
Loads (http://www.thecapitalofscandinavia.com/go08_program.php) of events, gigs and stuff all over, either for free or 8 SEK entrance.
Everyone with a birthday today gets in free to Gröna Lund (http://www.gronalund.com/) fairground and everyone born in Stockholm
today gets a free entrance there for the whole lifetime.
Buzzcocks are playing for free at Debaser Medis steps at 8 pm.

really? we got 2+ hours of athletes walking around.

we did get most of the opening ceremony, bar ads, and it was FUCKING AMAZING. i wish i had taken mushies this week instead of last week, that ceremony blew my mind.
