This is my favorite song of all time. Total Stoned Groove from Cheech and Chongs Up in Smoke from a one song band called Yesca~ Which means Herb in Spanish. Here's a taste of it...Though the guy has the fundamentals down, he's spotty at best but you get the general idea of the song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk4qLFoMXS8
But really what this thread is about is this version I found http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EPgRXZjuZY&feature=related
That is a visual masterpiece and he takes that song to another level. What I would like some help with is what movies does he sample in this Murder Mayhem video? Here's what I have so far: The Shining, Dune, Commando, Predator, Vacancy, 30 Days of Night, Red Rock Rest, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, One Hour Photo, Primal Fear, The Hitcher(newer version), I'm told Boondock Saints but I don't see it, and possibly Blue Velvet
I've watched this all day since I stumbled upon it and am hooked. He's managed to take some movies that were subpar, at best, and spin it to something worth watch.
The Death Scenes at 1:54 are Monumental and the musical build up to it is Colossal.
A-Z: Help me out on this I know that you're a movie aficionado. So you might be able to know the other pieces to this puzzle

They go by fast.
I also see
What Lies Beneath
Long Good Friday? (the Bob Hoskins clip)
Dune
Insomnia (Robin Williams)
I don't know what the Dennis Hopper stuff is.

Ah -- Red Rock West, maybe? With Nic Cage?

Thanks for the reply. So is that Insomnia instead of One Hour Photo or a collection of both? Long Good Friday eh? Haven't seen it. Is it worth watching or was that just phenomenal editing? And the Harrison Ford movie had me at a loss: I was thinking Blade Runner since that would fit with the violence but What Lies Beneath makes sense bc the drowning and all that. It's been years since I've seen that movie: So I was foggy on the details.
There are still at least 6 pieces of the puzzle left unsolved. The start: Any ideas? And the End~ I don't have a clue from what movie that is from.
Blue Velvet--What do you think? I don't know. There's a gratuitous use of Dennis Hopper though it could solely be from Red Rock Rest
Do you see Boondock Saint? I'm at a loss: Maybe the shot of the gunfire to the camera but I won't vouch for that.
What did you think of that video? My hand to God he makes Spike Jonze look like an amateur. But you already know by now that I'm a fanatic for Violent Movies. The Vacancy shots were better than the movie

In One Hour Photo, I think Williams had white hair. But I recognized that one look of his from Inosmnia right away -- it was his reveal with
Pacino on the boat.
I haven't seen Long Good Friday, but it's got a great rep.
I don't have audio, so I can't really judge the video. It just looks like a bunch of clips to me.
It's definitely not Blue Velvet, though, whatever the Hopper stuff is. I only guess Red Rock West because toward the end I see him in a car
with Cage, and that's the only movie I can think of that they've been in together.
Haven't seen Boondock Saints. It kind of gets lumped in my mind with all the Tarantino-inspired stuff that makes me weary (Lock Stock,
Seven Days in the Valley, blah blah blah).
Sorry this is choppy -- I'm signing on and off at the library as time allows.

I've watched this at least 3 dozen times since I found it and I have to agree with you that there is a shot that's clear where Williams is giving a bootkicking to Pacino. So that's obviously Insomnia
Red Rock West is a Hopper/Cage flick and I saw it earlier this week but dozed off because it's slow moving and I loathe Cage. But damn, from these clips I slept through the best parts.
I find it hard to believe that you've never seen Boondock Saints. Go rent it: I mean right now. It's a helluva ride.
By all means please hear this when you get a chance and compare the original I posted to this masterpiece of mayhem. Skeewifff did a bangup job with the video and the music is spot on. I'm not a typical fan of remixes but this is taken in a direction that I never thought I'd think of this song going.
Another Point of Interest is at 1:53~What is that movie from? And the man shooting the girl in the back of the head. I'm at a loss.
"Pleasant Sensations.Yes?" That has me scratching my head as well. The actor looks familiar and I believe I've seen him in English speaking films but as far as Foreign Films: Not a Clue
Phenomenal Video Through and Through. I'm torn between if it's because that's my favorite song or if it's because the Mayhem shown in the video. Whatever the reason: I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that is the best Youtube video I've ever Forest Gumped my way to.

The guy looks familiar, but I just can't place it.

I wish that other people would chime in on this to help crack this case wide open. But, Goddamnit, buddy for better for worse it looks like you and me are swimming this quagmire ourselves: And I appreciate your help. It's nearly 4 AM here and no rest for the wicked. I can't sleep when something is weighing on my mind. Bear in mind, this isn't my 1st rodeo~ I've been watching this on and off all day. So closure is a must
I do think that the car chase scene at 1:30 into it might be from Syriana where George is driving pedal to the medal before the whole ensemble is Blown to Bits

"unleashed" is the one with jet li and bob hoskins. same movie at 3:07 without jet li
3:19 is pan's labyrinth

you gotta be shitting me: He put Pan's Labyrinth in this murder piece? Brilliant
Skeewiff is LAW! I don't have a clue who he is but I'll stake my reputation that he knows good kill scenes and how to match them up with the beats

I'm hitting this on 3 boards: The last clip I'm told is Journey to the End of the Night
It could be a trick because I've said more than once that I hate Brendam Fraser

Goddamn It: That video is no longer available. That Sucks a Cockmeat Sandwich
Opps Me Internet Skills are subpar at best: I closed shop and retried trying to watch it and was told "This Video is No Available"

In what you're guessing is the Syriana clip, does Clooney have a beard? 'Cause I think Syriana and Burn After Reading are the only films
where he's had a beard. I think.
BangkokB

This was a leap of faith: All I remember is Clooney is chasing down the cars/SUV's from the beginning then a barrage of bombs say hello
That is not to be confused w/ the bombs where it looks like a jetpack escapes: That I don't know

Coulda been Three Kings.

Was there a bomb scene like that in 3 Kings? I mean it makes sense that's a movie that I could see that whoever the hell Skeewiff is would sample from rather than Syriana. But his handle seems to be that he takes just a few movies and grabs the clips that he believes best match the song. Case and Point: There's that The Shining clip twice. Otherside of the coin would be that he was bankrupt of ideas but I doubt that:But I am always the Devil's Advocate
You could hold merit if that last clip is the Brendan Frasier movie bc that's the only time that I know that movie is played
I was really hoping to shed light on the Beginning foreign flick and the movie where the man holds a gun to the back of the girls head.
