Why aren't you digging it?
As long as people are relaxed about it, tag sales can be pretty fun.

oh dear
i suggested we have a sort of garage sale out the back of our house, but my husband is too nervous because we live in a crack-happy neighbourhood.
best give it all to charity. :(

man, my mom had those like every other weekend and make me be the cashier.
I wanted to be with my friends but instead they'd stop by and taunt me.
My mom is a packrat. She'd buy all this stuff, let it set and sell it. And keep the process going. At least it didn't accumulate much though.

I always liked having a clear-out and a sale. People don't do that here in London, it's weird.

I had a yard sale and sold used tubes of toothpaste, 1/2 used deoderant sticks, and other personal hi gene! products. nickle a piece. First things to go. I should have tried selling McDonalds dipping sauces or Taco Bell packets.

do you know how many times I awoke at 10 am on a saturday to the sounds of a unannounced garage sale outside and had to go running out into the driveway in my pajamas to save my archie comic collection.
my mom would try and sell em off right under my sleeping adolescent nose!
i participated in a garage sale last winter at a friend's house. 2 things that were annoying:
the 2 men who arrived an hour earlier than the ad stated to ask about the generator that was for sale. they were not together and tried to outdo the other on the price.
the creepy foreign women who arrived early as well, in a large group, who stole my leather jacket. they have the scam down - arrive early, so the hosts are busy still putting merchandise out, then arrive in a large group, so some can busy the hosts with questions while the others swoop in, grab shit and run. fuckers.
now i just donate to the needy and have them pick up at my house instead of trying to sell shit that will end up stolen.
