Anybody here heard of Sukia? They're a duo that put a record out under the Dust Brothers' Nickelbag label backin 1996. The Dust Bros. also played a hand in the production as well. Anywho, just got the cd a coupla days ago and its fantastically odd. Im growing obsessed with their sound by the listen. Im sure it's a hit or miss recommendation, but if you dig it I think you'll really dig it.
Anyone else enjoy these guys? And more importantly, does anyone know of any other artists that tote a similar sound to Sukia?
Thank you, and your welcome. good day.

I dig the Sukia record - Mo Wax put it out here in the UK and I really like it.
I agree it's one of those oddball love it or hate it type releases.
I think there's a single or EP or something that I haven't heard but I can't be sure - there's a bunch of remixes with the Mo Wax release.
Sukia still (vaguelly) exist on myspace and.............................................ST OP PRESS!!!!!!!!.........
There's some tracks to download on their myspace that I don't recognize the titles of - Big Thanks McDuff - this has really brightened-up my Monday - I'm really looking forward to getting home and checking them out.
Yeah, check the myspace - there's way more info on there than I can provide

shit's dope. still cant get enough. the main guy behind it, Ross Harris (you may also know of him as Joey from "Airplane!", from that scene with Kareem Abdul Jabbar) released an album called Rossangeles a few years ago thats pretty cool. not quite as quirky as Sukia, but still very odd. its a bit more dancable and melodic.
french toast y'all.
