Anyone been/live there? I am heading there in a few weeks time and apart from visiting a friend in Auckland and possibly someone else in Wellington, I have no plans. I could buy a guide book but I like the personal recommendations (and I am too fricking lazy to go to WH Smiths)

Thanks.

I almost got a job there starting in September for a year, but I decided not to go. Will I regret it?

Kid P remains an honourary NZer even though he has betrayed us and lives with the enemy.

pretty much it's just Gareth and I.

I would recommend spending as little time in Auckland as possible. visit the Coromandel Peninsula, beaches along the Bay of Plenty, check out the volcanoes in the middle of the North Island, a few days in Wellington...there are a few more things...

tip of the south island (catlands) is very wooly wild and nice.

I enjoyed the fjords as well at Milford Sound, even though its a bit pricey to take tours.

I wish I could visit sprew and gareth every year :(

I went to NZ at the start of the year. There was nothing there that made me want to visit again really. Bay of plenty was nice though. I was pretty disappointed I never got to see a kiwi. I recommend seeking out a kiwi.
