Evidence of a severe high temperature corrosion attack on the steel, including oxidation and sulfidation with subsequent intergranular melting, was readily visible in the near-surface microstructure. A liquid eutectic mixture containing primarily iron, oxygen, and sulfur formed during this hot corrosion attack on the steel... The severe corrosion and subsequent erosion of Samples 1 and 2 are a very unusual event. No clear explanation for the source of the sulfur has been identified.

No study of this was included in the new report...this is evidence directly corresponding to the fact that these same thermite residues were found covering the entire collapse area of all towers. and also on chunks of molten metal discovered on several steel beams salvaged from the site. Thermite/thermate also accounts for the pools and channels of flowing molten metal seen in nasas thermal imaging, and witnessed by hundreds of ground zero workers for months after the collapse.

Here is a rebuttal from your favorite publication, Popular Mechanics (http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/research/4278927.html). They're de-bunking six of the conspiracy theories revolving around the collapse. Do you think any of the six debunks are legitimate?

I haven't seen any proof that WTC7 was hit by a jet, it sustained damage from the falling towers but so did WTC5, WTC4, and WTC6 with more devastating results than that of WTC7 and they did not collapse.

a tool is someone who is being used. in this case, for a political agenda that is leading to the deaths of millions of innocents, and contributing towards the hatred and violence that is so pervasive today.

their are many many videos, fed live that day, that show reporters, firefighters, emergency workers and people who were actually in the building being told to clear the area because the building was coming down, being told that there were "secondary devices" found inside the buildings...there was even a countdown held over the radios of emergency personnel. The BBC reported that the building came down before it actually did! you can see it in the background as the reporter is reporting its collapse! how did that happen?! the owner of the WTC site has even gone on record stating that him and the fire commissioner made the decision to "pull it".

and then of course, proof of thermate, everywhere. WAKE UP! *SLAP!*

1. Well the NIST report says it started on 10 floors but then presumably spread. The photos of WTC7 south side clearly show a very damaged building with fires on lots of floors.

What is the deal with the BBC thing? I dont see what the conspiracy is supposed to be? That the BBc was involved? They said the building had fallen and it hadnt - they made a mistake, how does this contribute to a conspiracy?

Most of this hearsay type stuff can be explained by people noticing that much of the building was on fire and presuming that it could likely collapse.

None of this is compelling.

i've been wondering that for a long time, only it includes the towers and the pentagon.

i mean i'll go out on the limb and assume for the sake of argument that there's a shadow government out there that faked a terrorist attack to terrify the american people into...whatever it is i'm supposed to believe, let's say that's true, that's what's going on. their plan went as follows:

- fly two planes into the twin towers, and then destroy them in a controlled demolition (a very complicated feat which would risk discovery, surely); simply flying the planes into towers wasn't enough, you had to destroy them too, because...and jet planes full of jet fuel don't...destroy...buildings...ok, well that's a little weird but ok, sure

- destroy WTC 7 in a controlled demolition (again risking discovery) because...anyway

- fly a missile or perhaps detonate a bomb on the wall of the pentagon and then strew plane parts all about in an effort to make it look like a plane hit it; you can't use a real plane, even though you have a demonstrated access to planes, because...and well anyway it's worth the risk of any of the thousands of residents of D.C. looking up and seeing a missile flying through the air, or someone in the fucking pentagon noticing a bomb in the building because...

that's clearly what happened yeahwho, don't be such a tool

i'm not saying the government is being holy or forthright about anything surrounding 9/11 but damn

more insurance money. enron files etc in the bldg 7. i could look deeper and see the exact offices of bldg 7 and how much was paid again, but just know it was blown up. it didn't fall for a few fires in a few rooms. no way no how. it was blown. why would they say it was from fires and then say they actually blew it. what's his name huh interpreted his own "pull it" as an admission of demolishing it. people just don't appreciate the facts of when and why.

It's the equivalent of me burning down my house by driving my car into it with explosives ready to detonate and then just to make sure, going down a few blocks and and doing the same to some other house... just to make it look good, and of course perhaps have a buddy drive a car 90 mph into a cement wall.

Who thinks like this and gets others to join along? Only a total nutcase who convinces other nutcases, which sort of makes me think it could actually be the work of some sort of religious fundamentalist group.

I'm not too sure about who's spinning who. The brightest people I know all find your conspiracy laughable at best, while the dumber ones I encounter tend to agree and are very easily led along with these theories.

Just prior to the fifth anniversary of the attacks, mainstream news outlets released a flurry of articles on the growth of 9/11 conspiracy theories, with Time Magazine stating, "This is not a fringe phenomenon. It is a mainstream political reality." However, an August 2007 Zogby poll found that 4.8% of Americans believe that "certain US government elements actively planned or assisted some aspects of the attacks". Mainstream coverage generally presents these theories as a cultural phenomenon and is often critical of their content.

So really there is no shortage of information either way, as a matter of fact the conspiracy theory has more coverage today than the actual event.

Go figure.
