I know. I don't quite understand why Adrock hated Rudy. The city has gone through many changes in the past 30 years. I left in the mid 70's (right before the 77 blackout) because it was getting bad. during the dinkins era, the city was just about ready to implode with its crime. Gulianni came in and cleaned up the streets. he got rid of the crack (well, the angels were helpful in that), got rid of the sleaze on 42nd st and shoved the mob into a small hole that they cant seem to get out of. I know, he used 9/11 as a tool to assist him in his run for the presidency but who else wouldn't? He was a great mayor and I would love to have him back in office. this city is only getting better with every great mayor since his presence.

I admit, the younger generation, the city was a "cooler" place to hang out before him but Its a better place now.

If it were a global vote I'd vote for Obama, but I'm not quite sure why. Well said KP. I've posted a couple thoughts/links and stuff over in Political. I'm definitely not up on the history of politics, party platforms and all that be but I'll say this. I think a lot of Obama's ideas and platforms are traditional democrat ideals. Nothing super new...but just time for a change in Washington. Where Obama is (or seems) different is in his approach and appeal. He's actually created a lot of excitement about the political process and attracted so many to get involved and actually donate time/money.

I'm supporting him but I also realize he can't execute anything without the buy-in and support of a lot of other folks in government. I see it as the start of turning around our nation....but it doesn't happen overnight.
