Hello New York.

Where are the Cheap but GOOD thrift stores?

Good stuff but under $15 type? But not clothes for bums

a friend needs thread help

any tips will be appreciated(y)

Right outside of NYC, there is a big Salvation Army thrift shop where I used to get loads of stuff. I mean literally, right outside. It's on the outbound lanes of the Holland Tunnel. If your mate has a car (or a mate with a car), it couldn't be easier. Just drive out the Holland Tunnel, keeping to the right, and it will be on the right about two blocks up. It's huge, it's cheap, and it's unknown to most of the NY hipsters who otherwise plunder all the other joints of good stuff.

small towns are the best places to hit up thrift stores now.
like peachy said, all the hipsters/vintage re-sell places have raped the big city ones.

There are a million good spots out by me (Suffolk County). Shittier the area the better...
