Got the link (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QvSi3BrEMBA/SMQ2MDsUCRI/AAAAAAAADms/ax_J8d05388/s1600-h/Doom_BornIntoT_72RGB%5B1%5D.jpg) on DOOM's message board (http://forum.hiphopsite.com/Forum14-1.aspx). Seems to be the real thing. This is exciting for me, 2nd only to a Bboy release. Can't wait.

definatly looking forward to new doom. but at the same time not holding my breath. one its a rap album, they all seem to get pushed back for some reason or another. two, dooms been acting real shady with his "doomposter" bullshit that hes been pulling lately. just hoping he doesnt mail it in on this album.

Yeah, the doompostor shit is in the back of my mind. Definitely cautiously optimistic. If it does drop, I'm not worried about him mailing it in. It's been a long time for him. Should be fire.

Ummmm, yeah. They pushed it back a week. Now it's delayed indefinitely with no release date set. Dat nigga DOOM. Sheesh. Mad disappointed.

Got the promo from Lex last week of the new LP. It's very dense and moody, but christ - that fella has some rhymes.

"That's That" (http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/audio/id.6821/title.doom-thats-that)leaked today. One of my favorite of the Special Herbs. Man, I'm hyped for this album.

Awww, c'mon kid. You're not feeling it? I've given it several listens. Gets better each time.

I'm sure you've heard that other track, "ballskin." What you think of that? If you ain't heard it, it's on his myspace.

DOOM's gotten a bit like the bboys for me in that I pretty much dig everything he drops just cause of the DOOM delivery and the unique, one-of-a-kind style. I dunno. I'm a fanboy.

He's perfunctorily filling up space in the verses - first time I've felt that way. Ballskin was ok.

thats that, is ok to me.

old beat, which i like, but it sounds a bit mailed in. his old stuff was so intracetly worked, that just kinda sounds like he just wrote something quick and spit it over it. didnt match well to me.

this is another new one "cellz" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8HcVzZm1E0&

im really feeling this track. shit is real crafty. i would be completely and totally satisfied if the whole album had a feel similar to that song on it.

I could have done without the 2 minutes of Bukowski. I'll formulate an opinion once I hear a finished finalized full LP of it. Rappers seem notorious for making last minute changes.

The album was originally reported to be titled, "Born into this" which goes along with the theme of Bukowski's nicely. I'm not sure why he would have changed it to "Born like this." Not a big deal, but I liked the first title.

After listening to this sampler non-stop for a couple days now, I gotta say that this shit is on another level for me. I don't know what it is about DOOM's shit, but he's officially my 2nd favorite artist of all time next to the bboys. The gap is closing.

I used to say about the beastie boys, "Some people get it and a lot more people don't. I'm happy to be one of those who get it." I have to say that same shit about the Villain except it seems like even fewer "get it."

I'm not trying to imply that it's a matter of intelligence. It's just something that you feel or you don't. I guess that's the case with all music though, so I'm not sure exactly what I'm trying to say. Other than, "I'm stoned.";)

So, Doom has always been someone I enjoy hearing but never put an effort to really get. I got ballskin and that's that and those two reminded me that I need something awesome to listen to right now. So, what's a good album of his to grab? [nothing from teh dangerdoom stuff, I've already got it.]

I'm a huge fan of Madvillain, "Madvillainy." The first album "Operation Doomsday" is a classic.

well he alternates from saying "born like this" and "born into this" right in the first couple.

thanks for the heads up. ill have a review in the time it takes to listen to the full album.

underwhelmed.

this wreaks of laziness.

i like a lot of the stuff on there. but its short. most songs under 3 minutes, numerous songs under 2 minutes.

5, almost 6, songs that doom isn't rapping on at all.

my fear of an uncompleted feeling to the album was confirmed. operation dooms day has a phenomenal flow and feel to it. this gives off a scattered, lazy vibe, that does not in any way seem like he has had 3 years to work on this.

Wow. I pretty much disagree with everything you just said right there prez! I'll give a true review a bit later, but I gotta run now. This album will be better than anything dropped in '09 unless the bboys bring some heat.

you are more than within your own right to disagree.

i have found numerous people who feel the same way i do though, and a lot less who feel like yourself.

ill wait for your full review, and maybe even do one myself later.

i will say doom sounds very good lyrically on here.

but putting this album side by side with mmm...food or operation doomsday and its not on their level.

and doom really is one of my favorite artists so i guess i just hold him to a high standard. id give this like a 7/10. where mmm...food was a 9/10 and op dd was a 10/10.
