this song sounds perfect for gay clubs. not that i've ever been to a gay club, but id imagine they play stuff that sounds like this.

this definatly is not rap or hip hop. hes really going that pop artist route now a days.

y do so many ppl bash the ppl who like music that they dont,, to the dude above me, no disrespect but if yu think the song sucks thats cool but y do yu have to b condescending towards ppl who enjoy it,, the auto tune shit is kinda lame, the beat is kinda simple but i still feel the vibe, the emotion,, and this is not hip hop fyi, not sure how to categorize it in all truth

i didnt see anyone bashing the people who like this music. like it out the ass. fine with me. the song is just on some really sellout type of shit, thats my problem with it.

and im a person who really like all kinds of music. i have a huge pallet when it comes to different music. i have no problem with rappers doing "real music" or branching out type of thing. a lot of stuff the rza has done latley falls into that category and i like a lot of it. but this is kanye song is just straight cheese ball.

I am flat out tired of the auto tune craze. It's already pretty played out but Kanye's been using it on the last handful of songs he's been on or produced and it just makes him seem even more lttp.

I might not even mind this song so much if he didn't use auto-tune. He does it with some emotion so there's at least that going for it.

i love kanye, i don't like this, though the quality is shit so i need a studio release before i judge. I just addressed the mass use of an auto tuner on people who can't sing well. Katy Perry anyone?

so what if he's not rapping. and who cares if they say his singing sucks, I dont mind it. lots of bad singers can still put out a good song. I doubt the lead singer of clapyourhandssayyeah ever sang in a gospel choir but I still enjoy the shit out of that band.

thats the point though. you can like it. if it floats your boat, your boat is floatin.

but it doesnt make the dude not gay for doing it.

im really strapped for an example, even though i know there are tons of them out there i just am tired from work (someone help me out with a better one), but ill say its like limp bizkit. hear me out. the first album they came out with was hard. real music, within that vein. than they started putting out all that uber gay shit. now you can still like that uber gay shit. people probably did/do (albiet a small amount). but it doesnt change the fact there was a shift in music from point A (good) to point B (gay!).

I refuse to discuss the moot point of the "gayness" of rappers not rapping. or of any musician switching genres, cause that's what it boils down to.
bob dylan should have stopped after his first couple of albums if that's the case. Im not comparing kanye singing an entire song and not rapping with dylan going electric on any epic terms but in regards to their evolution as individual artists I am.

regardless, the dude's momma died. hes allowed to wallow in his grief anyway he wants and if it results in a slighty catchy tune(imo) which peter frampton would be proud of and which isnt rap. then so be it.

dont misinterpret what im saying when i talk about the shift. the shift doesnt always have to be a bad one like i described. there can be a shift from A (good music) to B (different, but yet still equally good music).

the beastie boys are a great example of that.

kanyes shift just isnt the case. that song is just cornball cheesepuff stuff. its catchy and can be liked, but it is what it is.

I don't have a problem with a rapper trying to experiment, but it's the Autotune I have a problem with. When Andre 3000 and Phonte sing, I like it because it's actually their voices over the track, rather than a robot version of themselves. I don't really care if Kanye sings or not, but if he's going to, at least don't jump on a bandwagon that has driven away already.

Later, trying to make a record with those who beat his ass in some award show by making a secret non-public apology to get some good ties.

listen to busta rhyme's new song "Arab Money" it completely ruins the chorus.* Horrible, horrible, effect.

*chorus/song isnt great to begin with, but the effect makes it much worse.

It's just good to see artists step out of their comfort zones. Yes it's pretentious and sounds like a cheap version of Massive Attack, but so what? Your preposterous level of offence taken at this gesture is far more 'gay' than the music. Which by your standards is saying something.

Its good to see them step out of their comfort zones, if they are doing good music. Outkast is a great example of that. But, you can't make some garbage and say "oh he stepped out of his comfort zone so lets cut him some slack." Be serious. Im not taking offense at what hes doing, im commenting on it. Its a music forum. And on the personal shit, I dont care to call what you listen to or do gay because I frankly dont give a shit.

The whole album will be auto-tune. Which would suck if it weren't for the fact that I'm more interested in life and real issues to think about it. Better that than sitting here getting bent out of shape by one the most hated artists around putting out something worth hating. Fucking people, man.

For the first part of that statement...obviously everyone should be more interested in real life issues, and if they are not they have a problem. Thats not the point, go to the political forum and dont leave if thats how your feeling than know what im saying.

For the second part of that statement i really dont have a fucking clue what kind of point you were trying to get across. So ya.
