I am stealing a-z's thing but I won't do it again. At least not for a while.

We have more than a month to go before this Kevin Smith flick hits theatres but in the meantime we can enjoy the trailers:

My thoughts are that the only K Smith flick worth the cost of a night at the movies has been "Clerks"...he's doing his interactive stand-up schtick/Q n A here on the 30th...I saw him live back when he released "Silent Bob Speaks"...the bastard is amazingly quick on his feet, super wit...(y)

Though the writing seems similar to Clerks 2 I think it'll be great. Not to say C2 wasn't , but... it wasn't as good as his other works.

The absence of Jay and Silent Bob is obsolete since Jason Mewes is still playing someone in it. Also Jeff Anderson in it, so its a nice mix of people from his old and new. I can't wait.

Matt, it's good to see you back but I won't have you talk about Rogen like that. He's easily the best new comedian of the last 5 years.

Paul Rudd > Seth Rogen

But yeah, why the hate on Seth Rogen? Knocked Up was one of the best movies of 2006.

Rudd doesn't win Rogen. He's great too, don't get me wrong, but Rogen owns him. Compare their performances in 40 Year Old Virgin, for example. Both got plenty of laughs but Rogen was the one you were jonesing for.

Rogen did Undeclared too, which was wrongfully dismissed by FOX.

On an interesting note, Rogen will finish 2008 with eight movies having gone through theatres:

The Spiderwick Chronicles
Drillbit Taylor
Horton Hears a Who!
Kung Fu Panda
Step Brothers
Pineapple Express
Fanboys
Zack and Miri Make a Porno

I wonder if we aren't being overexposed to Roge. That is the point Matt is making.

Nah, Matt's trying to pigeonhole him. I mean, he's typecast to an extent but that's only because a lot of his acting is improvised. I think it's unfair to dismiss him for being himself.

No, I do think he's overexposing himself. He's got one great, funny character, but that's all. And that character is actually himself, so it's not really a character at all.

However, Knocked Up was great. 40 Year Old Virgin was too long, Superbad was good, but kind of aimless. Pineapple Express was gratuitous. Every other movie ToucanSpam mentioned was horrible, except for Step Brothers, because John C. Riley is the best actor in existence, ever and for all time.

Fair enough, I see where you're coming from. (y)

Still disagree though, you asswipe.

I honestly don't know how you can disagree with this.

I'd put Rogen over Reilly. Walk Hard was awesome but otherwise his stuff is very meh to me....maybe because I haven't seen Step Brothers. I don't like Will Ferrell, I find he is the same autistic man-child in every movie.

I honestly don't know how you can disagree with this. He's versatile, I'll give him that. Wasn't impressed by him in Talladega Nights though, he was one of the worst parts of a disappointing film for me.

yeah, Talladega Nights was kind of an all-around failure. One joke stretched too long. It could have worked better as a series of sketches on Saturday Night Live or something.

However, Riley was incredible in Boogie Nights, and he can make almost any movie seem great just as a result of his fine acting.

i personally like talledega nights quite a bit. I feel it was a great way to parodize NASCAR and their fans. if you dont have any knowledge of nascar, it fails.

Oh come on Sacha Baron Cohen was funny as hell in that movie.
