So, most of us drinkers have a favourite haunt...so what is good about and why do you always end up in there?
Is it a real cess pit but you love it anyway, is it the people who work there or frequent it that draws you in...the music...the decor?
Go on, sell it too me!

Mine is a bar/club called Chicagos Rock Cafe here in Aylesbury. Now you have to bear in mind that we are hardly spoilt for choice here, there are plenty of pubs most of which are pretty poor, 3 clubs again which are not fantastic...
Chicagos is a 15 minute walk into town for me, so that is a plus and makes staggering home reasonably achievable. The music can be a bit cheesy, but there is an outside patio area to take drinks (and for smokers to puff away) and it is heated which is good. Oh, and the toilets are kept pretty clean compared to some places. I always buy 2 beers at once because they never seem to have enough barstaff and the main bar is quite small (design is similar to the one in the tv show Cheers).
My friends go there a fair bit which helps lol, it is open until 2am and there is plenty of local talent to perve over haha.

Actually, I probably have not "sold" it very well...so it is actually quite hard to pinpoint why exactly I do go there!? :D

Hey that looks like a fun place, I like the old arcade machines and the beer is so CHEAP compared to rip-off Britain! Last night I paid £3.00 for a crappy pint of Carlsberg which equates to around $6, and they serve it in a plastic "glass" so we dont use them as weapons!

One of those fake pint glasses, or one of those flimsy plastic cuppy things with a lip?

Either way, they don't go cold, which is weird, but the ones with the lip are impossible to drink from without spilling half the contents down your shirt (drunk or not!).

Its the pretend pint glasses, they are horrible to hold and the beer tastes...wrong! They used to serve using real glasses but had a refurb and went with the plastic. Strangely the are not adverse to selling bottle lager, as far as I am aware a broken bottle is a far more effective weapon than a broken pint glass!?

AND when they are busy they dont wash the plastic glasses they have collected from the tables, just a quick rinse under the tap! God knows what diseases I might pick up...

two bars i go to well one is cause i grew up near it and the bar has been around for a hundred years, and they don't serve food, but beer prices are decent, and they have pool, and silver strike which is fun, my main bar isn't really a dive got volleyball all summer go there cause i know the bartenders, and my dad has been going there since the 70's so i go there now with friends and get drinks which big beer night 24oz beers for 2.75 always worth it, and bar dice is always fun.

The Rockery. From my house, its a two minute walk there and a ten minute stumble back. pretty cool place, nice people. They banned motorcycles, so they don't get the asshole kids on crotch rockets and the jerk Harley guys that all the other bars in town get. (y)

I like a place called Happy Village. they have an outdoor area that's like being at a backyard graduation party or wedding reception. it's fun to play cards there. they've also got ping pong inside. even without all that, the name alone is enough reason to go.

and I used to practically live at this place: http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/nZOrgUU68kgJ0YJUwaLpxA/l

I don't really go to bars that much anymore, but I went to a place on friday for a get together that's an old fashioned sports bar with an older polish lady tending bar. the drinks were cheap, and the crowd was diverse. there were really old mexican guys and young puerto rican couples, a handful of hipsters, some middle aged preppy white folks, what looked to be computer geeks, and this super tan older guy (in his 40's or 50's) with a bleach blonde haphazard mohawk wearing daggar earrings and a sleeveless leather jacket kept playing old punk songs on the juke box and dancing. when it got a little later, some gang bangers rolled up and in, so most of us pussyfooted out of thurr.

my friends are opening a bar/music venue near my house soon and that's going to rule.

we hit a hole in the wall called The Community Inn (the peeps in the know call it C.I.) a few Fridays a month. they have woodchuck which is my favorite and the bartenders always remember i like a straw in mine (saves the lipgloss). it's completely dirty and smoky and it's a strange mix of rednecks and hipsters. it's fabulous.

in the college campus days, i used to frequent this dive that was a couple blocks form my apartment called the spice cafe. it was a dark place in the basement of an indian restaurant upstairs.

after they remodeled, it was a lot nicer, but it still had all these old church pew like benches in the booths. they often had hit and miss local reggae bands play on the weekends, but other days it was nice and quiet. plus, they always had a good selection of cheap drafts, and their imports were well priced as well.

now that i'm away from there though, i haven't really frequented any places. all the bars close to me now are really shady with these grungy old men. hopefully when i move there will be a nice local place for me to go to after those long days at work.

It's a place that started as an internet place, then it became an internet café. After they moved it became a pub with internet.
Then they moved again, and now it's pub that might have some computers somewhere. I haven't checked.
It takes me less than a minute to walk there.

And since it started as an internet place, it is of course called [pub].

Now that looks like my kinda place! Different to my current haunt, but if I had somewhere near me that looked like that...I would go! Even just to see the clear lit floor! Cool :D

It's difficult to name just one, as I live in one of the bar-streets in Berlin.

Okay, here's the top 4 bars (all in Friedrichshain):
1.) Soylent Bar (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/37/93559658_6fd0fbc9ab.jpg?v=0) (Gabriel-Max-Str. 3)
2.) Habermeyer (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2252/2037468737_c6d8801ece.jpg?v=0) (Gärtnerstr. 6)
3.) Astro Bar (http://bollini.de/astrobar.jpg) (Simon-Dach-Str. 40)
4.) Pussy Galore (http://www.kneipen-suche.com/images/images_kneipen/9697.jpg) (Boxhagener Str. 16)

Best Clubs are:
Rosi's (http://www.rosis-berlin.de/) (Revaler Str. 29) - also Friedrichshain
Lido (http://www.lido-berlin.de/) (Cuvrystr. 7) - Kreuzberg

Best Karaoke:
Kim's Karaoke (http://www.kim-karaoke.de/) (Mehringdamm 32) - a weird place to be, but fun anyway...

So, if you ever get to Berlin, these are my suggestions for the night! :D
