so apparently as mayor of wasilla, sarah palin was in favor of a policy whereby rape victims would have to pay for their own rape kits (http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&tab=wn&ned=&q=sarah+palin+rape+kit&btnG=Search+News). i'd make a new thread about it but i haven't found any proper news sites reporting the story so i don't want to jump the gun

no, only the taxpayers that get raped should be burdened with that

that logic just kills me. i mean, i'm guessing that if you asked the average taxpayer if they'd be willing to pay a few dollars extra on their property tax each year to help rape victims find and convict their rapists, i'd hope they'd say "yeah i guess so." taxpayer pays for murder investigations, burglary investigations, arson investigations, etc, but rape investigations? in particular, the part where the woman who was just recently raped has to strip down in front of a stranger and let them probe her? no, the victim should pay for that. that's some sexist shit right there

but palin didn't know about it! so i guess that's acceptable. i'm sure there will be plenty of other shameful shit in the next 4-8 years for her to not know about too

fuck, we should be thanking palin, that stuff's probably why the russians haven't invaded yet. putin looked over across the strait at wasilla and saw that bullshit and said "they're doing what??? sure, in our country women have to sleep with their bosses to get jobs, but damn, at least they don't have to pay the police to investigate it afterwards. y'all can keep alaska, i don't want it" (putin has a southern accent)
