I'm trying to buy a TV that I can hook up my computer and put it into a picture in a picture format with the XBox on the Big Screen while the internets are in the bottom right hand corner- just so I can see if any emails have come in. I spent all evening looking for answers and the language barrier was brutal. There was a customer service person that was translating and as nice as she was, the idiots working at the mall know not what they sell. In typical Thai fashion, if there's someone that looks like he/she will buy something with cash in hand but has a few questions before doing so it's like yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater and that makes me want start speaking in Tongues backwards and then end it saying "I'm Killroy, Killroy, Killroy" At the end of the night as the lights were being turned out the nice lady asked for my number she said she'll call me tomorrow morning when a "technician" will be able to answer my question and that she was sorry for wasting my time: Which I thought was apt. I'm not holding my breath on getting any calls. So does such a TV exist? Or am I sitting on the greatest idea since sweatpants

Yeah, you just need a TV that has some kind of input you can yank out of your computer. There's lots of ways to do it, some laptops even have s-video ports built-in. Composite video would probably be the way to go, though. Just treat the laptop/computer-IN as an input channel and PIP should work fine.

In conclusion, look at the TVs and find what kind of input connections they have, then find a matching output for your computer.

most new tv's have a DVI port. DVI is mainly a port used for computers. but not all computers have a DVI port. check to see if your pc has a DVI port and just look for tv's that also have a dvi port.

They have TV's with DVI ports now? (y)

That's what I get for being poor and never buying a TV.

Thank you for the replies. If this helps I have a Sony Laptop FW VGN-FW17GU/H: That is fresh out the box here. I was told when I bought it 2 weeks ago that it had only been in Thailand for 2 weeks. So it's sunshine new. Having said that: What seems to be used by the retailers more times than not is the HDMI plug. However, as a last ditch effort they tried to hook up my computer to a TV using a jack that looks just like my computer to monitor port.

Any ideas on what brand of TV offers this feature I'm looking for? I would greatly appreciate a response because I'm clueless and the muppets selling the TV's are in the dark. I am a motivated buyer and want to have a new TV in my bedroom by tomorrow. I don't care the brand, price, or model as long as I can have the picture in a picture with the computer being in the small box while I hammer away at some random video game
