View Full Version : Innapropriate, or just me?

So I was at the zoo today with mr.p and the kiddlywink, and it was a lovely day.

At oe point during the day, I took my daughter to the little kiddies merry-go-round. There was another couple there with their little girl, around my own kid's age. The guy was wearing a T-shirt that said "Enjoy my Large Cock", with the lettering in that Coca-Cola logo style, you know what I mean?

Now I'm not without a sense of humour; I get that it's a play on the 'Enjoy Coke' adverts and all that, and it's funny in a sophomoric way. And although my kid is of course a genius and all that, at 2, she cannot yet read. But am I wrong in thinking that hey, you know, maybe this isn't really the most appropriate choice of attire to wear to the zoo, where clearly there will be, you know, families with kids who can? Or is that, like, totally OK?

I've never found shirts like this appealing....and definitely not appropriate for a zoo

free speech...eh, could it also be sexual harassment?

just because she was staring at/enjoying his "big cock" doesn't make that sexual harassment.

I think free speech ends at a certain point where you're projecting profanity to the public.

Otherwise you'd have billboards that just said "FUCK" to get attention.

Maybe a little too much for a place full of children. I'm surprised no parent took the initiative to tell him he's an asshole for wearing a t shirt like that to the zoo.

I have a question for you, ms. peachy. Was he a neckbeard? Was there any Cheeto dust on him?

i actually dont like that stuff. a lot of people my age always have that type of shit on. One time we were in Wal-Mart at like... 3 am, and someone ahd a shirt that said "FUCK: if thats offensive dont look" which i thought wasn't clever but it was 3 am, who the fuck cared? But if someone had that on at a ZOO, yeah, i'd be moderately upset.

I think if I was at a zoo with my kids (distant future) and someone had a shirt like that I'd just look at the guy, look at my kid, then give him the "get your head in the game" face.

eh. meh. errr...ummm. yeah, its in poor taste. I'd ignore it and just go on enjoying other sights within the zoo.

Yeah, that's what I did, basically. I just thought I'd throw the question out here to see if I was just in danger of becoming a crazy old prude who cant take a joke, or if it really was just a bit 'out there'.

I think what REALLY threw me was the fact that he was clearly there with a partner and small child, so was a parent (or at the very least a boyfriend of one) on a 'family day out'. If it was some daft foreign teenager who was part of a tour group and might just be a bit clueless as to what they were actually wearing I could almost have understood it - we would get that from time to time at the Science Museum, some group of Danish (or wherever) teenagers wearing T-shirts that they don't quite get, but this guy was in his late 20's at least, and (certainly sounded) English, so I just can't see that he didn't know any better.

Mr.p pointed out that it was far warmer yesterday than one might expect it to have been on a late September afternoon, so possibly he'd had a sweatshirt or something on over it but got too warm and hadn't actually planned to walk around the zoo like that. I suppose this is possible. But still.

Anyway, it was just a thing that I saw, it was otherwise a brilliant day. As is any day one in which one gets to see a gorilla take a giant dump and fling it at a window, really.

when i was about that age i didnt care about other people's clothes nor the animals in the zoo but i could stare at manhole covers for ages so who's the genius now?

(why does your idiotic language sound so dirty all the time? no why it's called manhole covers)

ms.peachy

I kicked a dude out of the store once for wearing a shirt that stated "I'm shy, but I have a big dick". I had no real right to do so, but he left anyway. (y)

:) hehehe.

yes, it is inappropriate. i don't think you'd be alone thinking it was inappropriate.

a couple of months ago my friend and i saw a young fella walking down the street with a HITLER: EUROPEAN TOUR 1939-1945 t-shirt on that had dates for all the various ww2 battles etc on the back of it. i was like.. the fuck? are we so au fait with genocide that that's okay now? i understand maybe a few nazi LOLpics if you are so inclined but t-shirts?

anyway i don't think it was meant to be a "hitler lol!" t-shirt anyway. a colleague googled it for me and it's totally a white power staple. of course. ugh.

I'd like to wear a shirt that insults shirts. "Your shirt SUCKS." or "Drown your shirt in bleach."

eh I'm no good at making witty lines.

Not only is that tee in Inappropriate, but only tools wear those kind of things.
I especially hate the ones that try to be random and out there. One's like 'I poke badgers with spoons'.

I put them in the same bracket as those people who wear those band tee's were the logo is made up from gems. The usual suspects are Kiss, RUN DMC, The Ramones. As if any of them even listen to those bands! Tossers.

his wife didnt actually say anything to him when he bought it, she didnt have to ,she managed to say "There is no fucking way you are EVER wearing that when i am about unless you want your testicles burning" with her stare alone. But it was quite difficult for me and the other lads remembering which side to stand to avoid the arrow.

It was innapropriate just to wear the shirt in front of the kid that was with him.

My neighbor gave me a shirt from his trip to Aspen CO. You know, the "How's your Aspen?" shirt. The words are fine, but he got me one with some cowgirl in a thong shovin her butt in the air like a dog in heat. I can't wear that around my kids. He even asked, why I don't wear it. I said, "You really think I'm gonna wear that around these kids??". He replied, "It's just a shirt dude." Sorry bud, It'll stay in my drawer for a very long time, maybe forever. Thanks for the gift though!

A story about my last visit to the zoo. We have a couple zoos around here. Brookfield (you have to pay) or Lincoln Park (free zoo). I used to live right across the street from Lincoln Park Zoo, so we know everything about it and a lot of zoo keepers as well. Anyway, we're walkin through one day, checkin out the lions, all is calm and very nice, when all of a sudden. This guy walks up with (what looks to be) his mom and his two kids. Great! But not so great. He then lifts a boombox out from the stroller and cranks some homemade mix tape he made. I mean, he had it all the way up. His mom just looked around like this was normal. The kids were lookin at the lion. There was like 20 other people there. We all looked at each other and most laughed, while some were very pissed. I had to laugh. I could hear him scratch his name in the middle of the song breaks M-m-m-m-m-m-mMike-----N-n-n-n-n-n-icalow! LMAO Some funny stuff there DJ Mike Nicalow. He walked the entire zoo with it. I heard him by the polar bears later, and saw people walking away laughing and pissed. People are strange.
