If McCain is elected into office, dies, and Palin becomes president of the United States, it could be the best thing ever to happen to the USA.

Upon first reading, that statement seems ridiculous to some. Why would it be a good thing if Sarah Palin, an inexperienced, dim-witted Republican became head of the country? Well, this is what I propose:

Assuming Palin gets into power, there is great potential for the country to suffer even more than it is now. Under such extreme and harsh circumstances, people would be forced to take radical action against their government. The working class would be so fed up with being economically oppressed that they would do whatever it takes to topple the balance of power. As Marx suggests, in a situation where the working class is pushed to its absolute limit, a revolution is inevitable. There are countless examples from the 20th century alone that show that horribly oppressed people lash out, violently at times, and completely topple the previous system of government.

Assuming that Palin does gain power and damages the country as much as what many non-Republicans are suggesting, it could be the spark needed for a revolution that is long overdue in the Western world.

N.B.- I personally do not subscribe to this idea because it places far too much faith in people who can often be lazy, apathetic and unwilling to make dramatic changes. Still, it is interesting to think of the possibilities that could happen.

A very romantic vision, but who will be the Castro and Che to Palin's Batista regime?

And after the revolution, how do you maintain it? (Will it be televised? ;) )

No, I don't think this scenario would work. What I would be more hopeful of is a mass uprising and radicalism akin to what was seen during the 1930s Great Depression, which led FDR to calm and assuage the masses with New Deal programs. Yes, it kept the capitalist system intact, but made it a more kinder, gentler version and built a safety net for millions of Americans who had no safety net.
