Hello,

I've been to NYC like 30 times. I always find myself doing the same shit. Anyone got any cool underground activity recommendations?

Have you been to McSorley's? (http://www.mcsorleysnewyork.com/) It's a really cool old bar...I think it might have NY Liquor License #0001. You can order two kinds of home-brews...dark or light and you have to order in multiples of two.

Definitely worth checking out.

i've got two places for you

chumley's (http://nymag.com/listings/bar/chumleys/) is an old speakeasy from the 1830's. there's still a secret back entrance on barrow street... old school writers haunt.

but if you really want underground

pdt (http://www.pdtnyc.com/)

you have to call between 3:00 and 3:30 PM

you walk into a hot dog stand and into a phone booth. the wall opens up and you're in this bar...

Love that place, been there only three times now but its definitly an authentic feel of a real bar.

The wishbones with like 8 inches of dust across the line is my favorite part of the place. The boys that didn't make it home from WW1.

The beers are only 8 ouncers or so but they get you feeling fine real fast.

I'll recommend the trailer park in Chelsea on 23rd. I've posted pics of it here, in the random photos thread as a matter of fact. It is a very much trailer park themed place serving the finest of cuisine such as chili mac and tater tots.

Off of St. Marks and 8th there's fun open mics on Tuesdays and Sundays with great spoken word and comedy and occasional music as well.

Pianos on Ludlow has some good local bands on saturday nights, you pay for the shows downstairs and the ones upstairs are free.

I'd was half wondering whether Kenny Guido would have posted an ad in here if he hadn't got his shit deleted or hidden or whatever...
