I love squash soup…or caramelized squash with brown sugar and pepper…or sweet potato fries…or even mashed field potatoes mixed with sweet potato…I make a killer leek soup as well…I don’t do a lot with pumpkin, but my sister makes a spicy saffron, nutmeg and pumpkin soup that’s killer…I’ve never had sweet potato pie…I wonder what that’s like…it’s almost Turkey time!...I think my girl is gonna make a fall themed centerpiece for her table this weekend,I love those colors... Sweet potato pie is a big one for me. Uh, I just dig on sweet potatoes, honestly. Fries, baked, mashed... we could get on some Bubba Gump action here.
Mostly just baked (in the microwave) though 'cause it's easiest. Those suckers are full of nutrition - don't front on the sweet potato.

The recipe for a baked potato?
Just get your sweet potato and cut the ends off (I'm not sure why I do this but my family always has so I do too) along with all the bad spots. Stab that thing all around with a fork so it doesn't explode in the microwave. Then, just put it on a microwave-safe plate and zap it for about 8 minutes.
Let it sit for another 2 minutes once it's done and then take it out and chow down. You can put some butter on it if that's your bag, along with some cinnamon and these are really delicious. But, I just go for this fake butter stuff that has no calories... mmm... butter-flavored chemicals.

Honestly, I've never made sweet potato pie... my mom is usually the one who does that. But, I'll find you a recipe...
Here, try Paul Deen's recipe (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/old-fashioned-sweet-potato-pie-recipe2/index.html), that should be some good stuff. Although, I will admit it's not that healthy...

I make a pumpkin cheesecake with a crushed assorted nut crust that is heaven.
pumpkin pie is my favorite dessert just by default since it far easier to make.
at my job, when it is your birthday you are allowed to ask for whatever treat you want to share with the coworkers. so they went to my favorite coffee shop and bought a couple of their pumpkin pies off of them.
and my birthday is in june no less. <3
and Im pissed at dairy queen. last year they had the pumpkin pie blizzard which was the best. now this year it just doesnt cut it, recipe change or something. I was so depressed when I got one wednesday night and it was sub-par. DQ FU!
I like baking my squash with maple syrup instead of brown sugar. try that moot!
my favorite also is the pan full of roasted assorted veggies: carrots, turnips, parsnips, squash, potatoes(sweet too), and beets.
I just throw everything in there with salt, assloads of pepper, and oil and then go crazy with the herbage.
thyme, oregano, marjoram, parsley, dill etc.
though with the beets it is best to stick them in the corner of the roaster in a little tinfoil boat otherwise they bleed everywhere. Oh Oh! and par-boil the beets first, they are the densest vegetable known to man, i swear.
I like the golden beets which dont bleed really, but I find them almost too sweet sometimes.
