So the original bailplan failed in the House. So the Senate says "hey slide that thing over here. we'll ADD some shit here, and some shit there and we'll pass it."

WTF! WTF! WTF! WTF!

Instead of actually coming up with a better plan, even a different plan all these douchebags did was add a bunch of irrelevant (to this problem) partisan bull shit in to the mix and call it good. Let's see , same powers for Paulson, same arbitrary $700B figure, same plan to PURCHASE toxic assets, same plan with no prosecution of crimes by execs, same plan with no clear system of payback to the Treasury, same plan with no consensus of effectiveness.

We have been duped my friends, sold out and delivered. We didn't land on a bailout plan, a bailout plan landed on us! Right now there are people planning and scheming on how to get rich with this, with OUR, bailout money. This fiasco will be twisted, trampled and exploited by the very same people who got us here in the first place into new cars and Cristal for themselves.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE call your congressperson(s) and demand a better plan. Tell them that there has been nothing added to this plan that helps in anyway to make this more beneficial for the average American.

I'm surprised by this. The first vote made everyone think "Oh wow Congress works!" Well, surprise! It does work, just not for the people.

I have to agree that prosecution is in order here. If this plan fails, if our government co-ops one of the biggest heist's in the history of mankind, what will we tell our grand kids?

Thank You George W. Bush for putting NO BRAKES on de-regulation. We have now hit the brick wall and are totaled.

Extortion and bribery are our only options, tomorrow will be a historic day, in so many ways.

Lube me up.

Looks like those tax cuts won't last for long, thanks bush!

This "plan" has been in the works for awhile and in some weird way I have a feeling the repubs do not want the presidency so they can blame the dems for raising taxes to get a jumpstart on this, oh and the mess in Iraq.

Then in 4 years they will say "told you so" and somehow win the presidency again, yippee!!

So now we must discuss the economic stimulus package....and how it failed because look where we are.

Just four short years ago we heard, "My work is not done here in Washington DC my friends" .....

I hope to God he is finished with his work now. We still have til January 20th 2009. Look at what happened in two weeks.

I know. If nothing else I had to chuckle at that, and I haven't chuckled in about a week now. Also changes excise tax on rum, but only from certain countries. Now how the fook did wooden arrows and rum come up in these negotiations. Must have been Barney Frank. That guy talks like he just walked out of a 3 day bender at the Kennedy compound. Probably has had his share of rum.

c'mon, I think it's just wonderful how in the spirit of bipartisanship,
Oregon senators Gordon Smith (R) and Ron Wyden (D)
reached across the aisle to include this very important tax incentive,
for all the great American wooden arrow makers.

and don't be one of those conspiracy wackos that brings up the fact
that $200,000/yr winners; Rose City Archery in Myrtle Point, Oregon,
happens to be in the district of Congressman Peter DeFazio,
the House Democrat who most loudly opposes this bailout bill,
and one who has actually introduced some alternate legislation (http://www.defazio.house.gov/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=441)

Dude, I like DeFazio's alternate plan. Makes a hell of a lot more sense to me. Of course, we've heard nothing of it from the media.
