Anyone use it? Whats the best, easiest to get into shit? Also I dont have a thousand dollars.

Imovie is pretty easy. Nereo movie maker is alright...well at least it comes with some cool effects. Windows... It sucks mainly because it lacks effects and time editing sucks, it has lesser options, and also only shares one audio channel. So, if you go on to add a song with sound effects you'll have to go to another program and handle that part which I dont think there is a program for that comes with Windows.

price depends on if you want to torrent it or not. I (legally) have Final Cut Pro (mac only) but it's a little higher end. Sony Vegas is pretty sweet if you can get your hands on it. Freeware ones suck lots though.

Im not looking to super impose the pedo bear into my christmas party or add a whole lot of effects, mainly I just want to be able to do stuff like, slow down the cut then resume normal speed, cut clips together easy, add some cool looking filters to make the shots look darker or grainier and overlay music over it easy and stuff.
