The death penalty has been cropping up in some literature I’ve been reading lately and a couple of perplexing things have been running through my mind…namely with regards to France and Japan…the last execution in France was in 1977 and the method of execution was carried out by the Guillotine!...in 1977!...the only method used post-revolution…wild…anyways Japan still has the death penalty and they hang people…but what interests me the most is that both society’s did or do not let the condemned know the date of execution until the morning of the day the sentence is to be carried out…which leaves me to ponder: what is the greater cruelty to know in advance the date of your death or to live day to day wondering if your numbers up when the sun’s up....?????

I'd rather know when it's time, so the not knowing, but knowing it will be soon, would be more torture.
So I'm for it. (y)

^do you mean you advocate the death penalty in general or just being informed of the date of execution?

having a death penalty is pretty retarded. France don't have it any more cus they are in the EU. You can't have capital punishment to join the EU - its just Belarus in europe who still do (I think).
Anyway, unsure of the question but are you talking about death in general - know when your death is; or knowing when you are about to murdered by the state - like in how many days or knowing you are to be murdered but not know when?
If I had to be killed that way I would prefer to be murdered without knowing the date.
