Oscilloscope Laboratories launches Sasquatch division of company
with NOT YOUR TYPICAL BIGFOOT MOVIE
Easily the best Bigfoot related film at SXSW FF 2008
Film opens at the Pioneer Theater in downtown Manhattan Friday October 17th
New York, NY (October 16th, 2008) – Oscilloscope Laboratories today announced the acquisition of worldwide rights to Jay Delaney’s documentary, NOT YOUR TYPICAL BIGFOOT MOVIE, a hilariously offbeat and sweet buddy movie about two Bigfoot researchers (Wayne Burton and Dallas Gilbert) and their quest to prove its existence in small town Appalachian Ohio. Oscilloscope will release BIGFOOT at the Pioneer Theater in New York City Friday, October 17th and on DVD in the winter 2009.
Seeking fame, fortune, and notoriety, Wayne and Dallas’ life long friendship is tested when a nationally recognized high-profile California Bigfoot researcher makes a stop in Portsmouth, Ohio a dying former steel town. Showing how the power of a dream can bring two friends together and provide a source of hope and meaning that transcends the harsh realities of their life, Delaney’s honest and often funny look at their idiosyncratic lives, proves that Bigfoot is alive and well in Wayne and Dallas’ world.
O-Scope President Adam Yauch says: “Before seeing the film I had no idea Bigfoot could levitate.”
Delaney, who directed, produced, and edited the film in his hometown, says, “Shane (cinematographer), Jeff (executive producer), and I are thrilled our film has found such a great home at Oscilloscope. We set out to make a personal film about two people in our hometown several years back, and it’s so rewarding to know Dallas and Wayne’s story has really connected with people. The excitement and enthusiasm Adam, David, and Dan have shown for the film – and their personal touch – really won us over.”
