I adore colorful tights but my hips are at the far end of the spectrum when the large size from american apparel fits without cutting in like a sunuva and thus can only be worn under slightly less baggy tops/dresses.
I can find other brands that fit, but they just aren't as fun usually.

the mini skirt plus non-wool/woven tights is lame if it really cold.
truth is I wear thin yoga pants for much of the winter time and I feel fine as long as Im wearing enough layers on top.
legs numb out quite nicely on a crisp canadian winter day. especially if you are walking the whole time you are outside. it is the upper body numbing that is never, ever, ever good times.

i think colorful tights only look good if you wear high boots and a skirt so you can only see the knee part of the tights otherwise it hurts in the eyes
