Friday the 13th drops Feb 09
Nightmare on Elm Street drops 2010
Next thing you know they will be remaking Jaws.
I have never ever ever ever liked remakes.
It makes me mad, and yet I will go and see them ...because I suck at temptation, especially the two listed above...they are huge favorites of mine.
Have you found remakes better than the original?

there has never been a good remake
I'm just about to watch Slap Shot
nobody better remake this
Friday 13th? Nightmare on Elm Street?
How the fucking fuck do they think they can make a better movie than the original?
Have not these people learned that remakes are pointless?
All they do is get some curious people to see how much of a fuck up of the original has been made and that gets bottoms on seats for a few days and this all helps to keep cinemas open because nobody has the time to come up with an original idea cos they spend most of the day online or selecting tracks for they're i-pods or looking too long in the mirror trying to decide what to wear.
What happened to the Warriors re-make?......did they get scared that they were basically just wasting their time and money?
seriously though....I know Lucas got some ego sperm stains all over the Star Wars original trilogy but if anyone in my lifetime remakes the Star Wars 77-83 movies I will be very mad and do a Hulk.
talking of the Hulk....why those 2 films so far?....the CGI shit?
it looks crap and unrealistic

oh and JAWS?
I bet they'll not have a scene where they're boozing on the boat
probably will have them all eating drinking Starbucks Lattes

remakes really annoy me
all about the $
but i must admit "the hills have eyes" remake kicked the orginals ass
It is about the money. Every 20 years or so there is a new generation who haven't seen it and think everything done before them is lame.
You can't really blame them if we sucker ourselves into paying for it again and don't educate our kids that good stuff happened before them. Ultimately it is our fault

I don't really dig remakes either but, like everyone else, I always seem to be in line to go see them.
Especially horror remakes.
The Halloween remake wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but it wasn't really all that good either. For some reason I did enjoy how they spent more time going into Michael's childhood instead of just murdering his sister.
Anyway, I know I'll see the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street remakes, but I don't promise to enjoy them...

are they actually remakes or just yet another sequel?
remakes are done just for the money, if you haven't figured that out yet....

I liked the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. it was super scary and looked really good, all sepia and stuff. I must say, I could do without seeing a man getting put on meat hooks again. bleh!
other than that, I haven't really seen too many remakes. and I've never seen Nightmare on Elm Street anyway. when I was 6, my babysitter told me the story of Freddie and told me it was true, so I spent a whole lotta years scared shitless of Freddie and never saw a single Elm Street movie because of it.

^poor thing.
Chainsaw remake gore scenes were better, but the original was scarier, I think.
Rob Zombie did the remake of Halloween right? ....I haven't seen it yet, I heard it was good.
Then they did H20, which was 20 years later ....not a remake....with LL cool J and Josh Harnett? That one sucked.

Nuke (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=88045) 'em.
On a serious note...why do even bother making threads about the endless evil deeds Hollywood has committed in the past uncountable amount of years; just so damn depressing.

yeah, myers' backstory was really interesting and well done. however from there on it just went downhill so fast with one cliche after another.
rumour has it there is going to be an escape from new york remake with josh brolin as snake pliskin. if true, than it may have potential, considering brolin's top notch acting chops and has been selecting only really good projects.

the best remake would be Batman of the 2000s?
I really enjoyed The Justice League New Frontier. Not really a remake of a movie but damn well great animated tribute to the golden age heroes. The ending of that movie was beautiful!
I'm pretty sure there were some good remakes.

ZOMBIES DON'T FUCKIN' RUN
could they swim?
could they swim?
They can walk along the bottom of a body of water. if there is no shore, then they stay on the bottom until they decompose.
I watched New Frontier the other night. It was pretty wonderful. I'll probably buy the DVD.

Here is a movie that NEEDS a remake.
The Super Mario Brother movie. That pile of shit was just fucking AWFUL! It needs a remake. I would so watch it if it were all in CGI of course.

On the other hand, I totally disagree that Super Mario Brothers needs a remake. All it needs is the damn sequel made that is hinted at the end.
Don't front on Bob Hoskins.

ARGHHH!!! No! Part of the whole magic of the original was that Myer's had such a sketchy, unexplained past. From Halloween 2 on when they tried to "explain" him it just went down hill.
In my eyes they took nearly everything that was original and groundbreaking about the original and surgically removed it. Now, i have to admit, Halloween is my all time favourite film, but I had no problems with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (which is also a favourite) but Zombie's film just fucking sucked.
Don't even get me started on the Fog remake. That's not even worth mentioning.
Instead of remaking Carpenter's good films, they should remake his films that had good ideas but could probably be pulled off better (step forward, Prince of Darkness)
P.S. I quite liked H20..i thought it was pretty well made, and tried to be faithful to the original whilst also being a post-Scream type film. I still quite like it.

Well, uh, I was too lazy to read all the posts to see if someone had posted this already - but it looks like they have a trailer up for Friday the 13th up on MySpace.
Click (http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=45036756). Jason looks like he's moving a little bit faster than I remember...

It was always pretty unrealistic in the older versions he never ran, always walked slow ...and yet somehow caught up with his running victim.

I always thought that was part of the reason Jason Vorhees and Michael Meyers were so damn cool. They can just plunk along and catch those suckers... save all their energy for the hacking and slicing.
