How often do you get sick?

I usually get sick everytime the season changes, and maybe once in the middle of summer or a couple of times in the winter. so...5 times or so? however, I haven't been sick in over 7 months. the last time I was sick, I was verrry sick. so maybe my antibodies got all beefed up from kicking that cold's ass? anyway, that rules, and I think it's because I started eating fruit and taking vitamin B complex with vitamin C almost every day. I never used to eat fruit...like ever. it's magic! try it! it makes you immortal!

But really, I get really sick about once a year, around this time. Lots of mucous and coughing and headaches and stuff. not fun.

but i got like 4 fucking colds this month. it was ridiculous.

i may get the sniffles or a scratchy throat for a day or two from time to time, but that's about it. i don't really consider that sick because it really doesn't effect me. it may just be allergies.

i haven't been sick to the point of needing meds since i had a pretty bad throat infection in the fall of '02. i couldn't eat or drink or even swallow my own spit. i lost like 25lbs. that happened to me the summer before that too.

oh yeah, i've been getting those too lately. on saturdays, usually. i don't understand why exactly. but i wikipedia'd "migraine" and i'm pretty sure that's what it is. it's a sharp throbbing pain in my head, sort of localized in one spot, like a rope of pain from the back of my eye to the back of my head. it almost feels like there's a physical object in there or something, because it hurts when i move my head around, i have to stay perfectly still so as not to jostle it.

but then i wake up the next day and feel fine, so who the hell knows

I'm pretty surprised by the good health in this thread. I never thought of myself as a sickly person. I work with the public though, and take public transportation, so maybe that factors in. one of my roommates is always getting sick and I usually get her sicknesses, but I haven't caught anything in the past 7 months and she's been sick twice. same with one of my coworkers. I am pretty susceptible to viruses, but I rarely if ever get infections. I've probably only had a fever twice. when I had foot surgery, the doctors were all pumped about how fast I healed. I'm pretty sure I'm filled with an acid that kills bacteria. might be why I also don't smell very bad ever, even when I'm dirty. (y) sometimes I ask cort if I smell and make her smell me, and she's always like, "no, you don't, you never smell". and rolls her eyes. yeah! acid!

that sounds like a sinus headache to me. I used to get terrible headaches a lot when I was a kid. thank god I grew out of them. it's been a few years since I've had a debilitating one. but man...sometimes it'd get so bad I wanted to cut my head off. I think the last one I had like that was 5 years ago or so. the doctors never knew what caused them, my orthodontist thought it was my teeth, but I disagree. I think he just wanted money.

I get sick once a year maybe, and yea fruits and veggies rules!! They clean the body of all the shit that get stuck in the digestive tracks,lungs, sinus.. Apple and carrot are one of the best.

healthy eating habit and good mind set can get you out of trouble.

ugh. i'm fighting my hardest against bronchitis at the moment. most of my sickness is allergy/asthma related. i started coughing at the bar on saturday and suddenly i was in full blown allergy attack mode. that instantly gave me feelings of possible bronchitis. blah. taking a steroid inhaler and mucinex and drinking TONS of water. i hope that's enough to stop it from developing!

i get bronchitis about twice a year. in spring and fall. i did get a crazy flu earlier in the year that took me out for a full week at work.

i don't get colds. i just get allergy attacks that seem like colds. :/

The majority of my yearly illness is self inflicted...cause reality dictates that I'm a highly functioning alcoholic and when I relapse it's a hard,hard fall,liver,stomach,mind,body,soul and all...3 day's drunk,one week sick...so lame...(n)

Usually I'm pretty good.
This year though, my health has taken a beating, and I think it's because I got dumped - some of it stress related, some of it because my emotions were retarded, and the rest because I'm single and binge drinking like crazy and sleeping with boys.
