I'm not so sure. Bush got 'voted' in twice, for fucks sake.
I'm predicting an assassination attempt on Obama within 2 yrs if he is elected.

McCain stuff is rampant around here. So many more people are voting for him that I thought would be possible. Then again I go to a fairly conservative, primarily christian school in the bible belt.
I saw a bumper sticker the other day. It had a picture of Palin, a republican elephant symbol, and a picture of Obama. The text above the series of pictures
Our Momma Stomps Obama

I <3 vancouver.
I just dont want to live there. too expensive.
though I can't rule that out, who knows what the future holds.
montreal is just as awesome. but has a more european vibe/ny thing going on compared to vancouver.

I wouldn't live in Montreal, but don't mind the hour drive to visit. There's too much french and I know very little. They have some weird love/hate relationship with the people where I'm from. They will come here and shop until their heart's content but aren't very friendly otherwise.
What is so different in Vancouver...pictures I've seen gives me an earthier bohemian impression and I would say I lean towards that.

^the topic of assassination came up a few nights ago during dinner with friends.
If I recall correctly ....there has been 6 presidential assassination attempts (4 murders, 2 wounded) ...my numbers might be off, I don't think so ...but whatever ...I am close. I don't feel like googling.
Anyway, I do agree on the fact he will need extra security ...this world isn't completely free of racism yet.
Sad, but true.

Hmmmmm, in that event... maybe we could file some sort of petition to make California it's own country and we could have Obama be our president?! (y)
Or yeah, I finally join my lover up in Vancouver. <3

If McCain wins, I'll eat my own hair...
Sadly, I think the chance is still there. Mccain is bound to get plenty of votes from the Southeners. I can already hear the hillbilly voices going "Nuh-uh, we don't want no nigger for president".
(n) :(
It's quite scary that even this children's book is completely sold out.
Help! Mom! There are liberals under my bed! (http://www.amazon.com/Help-Mom-There-Liberals-Under/dp/0976726904/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1224715564&sr=1-1)
Children shouldn't deal with politics, and definitely not in this way. It'll only create brainwashed and hateful grown-ups.

I'd say yes. and you must make chocolate when everyone is on the rag.
we may also need some "house boys"...you know to shovel snow, wash the dishes and serve us during formal dinner.

Don't move to Canada. We need to keep the population growth below economic growth at this point in time.
Also, don't move to Canada.

It's cold, and if you complain you get taken away by two men in suits and will never be seen again.
But seriously, population growth is bad in rough economic times.
But really seriously, I don't care.

I sadly wouldn't be surprised if McCain wins. Racism is deep seated.
I had a colleague of mine say something about the church Obama attended and his racist pastor. I must have had this incredulous look on my face because he kept trying to explain it, though I said nothing. Finally, after a few moments of silence I said, "I'm sure McCain is racist."
"That one" might as well have been "boy". People think he's Muslim, not that there's anything wrong with that. And even in California, people are afraid that they may have to talk to their kids about homosexuality unless they ban gay marriage. Even the "joke" threat on here is that RobMoney is gay (because that's a dis, right?!)
And for about 20 years, there was a very successful Los Angeles mayor who didn't win his attempted run for governor, despite being ahead in the polls prior to election day. It's called the Tom Bradley effect and it will happen to Obama. The thought being that people don't want to tell pollsters they're racist, but behind the curtain, they'll vote for the white candidate.
The question is, what percentage will switch their vote or are answering undecided now?

I've already checked out it out and I have a concrete plan. If Obama loses, I'm going to move to Vancouver and get another degree. Perhaps city planning.

When Virginia elected the 1st black man as Governor, L. Douglas Wilder, held a 11% lead in the polls. He won the election by less than 1%. I think Obama will win but on election day it will be a squeeker. If it is tied maybe there will be a danceoff.
