Anyone go to the Gunnin' For the #1 Spot Adam Yauch signing at Virgin NYC?

I actually went down there at like 6:45pm and it was so low-key that it was a fan's dream man! Like 10 people on line. Obviously the advertising for this thing was on the down low. But check this: I was/am so cheap that I didn't buy the dvd (which you absolutely had to for meeting him), and therefore didn't get to meet Yauch. I just watched from the sidelines for a bit. I know, I'm still regretting it a little! But hey I don't have 25 cents to my name, let alone the $25 they were charging for the dvd!!!!

So to help me with my regret, did anyone go, and can share their experience?

I went there to get signed copies of the dvd for Pooty and Laver. I intended to get photos of the event and write something up, but I currently have the Black Plague (aka the worst flu known to man) so it didn't happen.

Yauch was very cordial and laid back. He spent time with each person who came to the signing. I saw him pose for photos with people and sign things other than the dvd. Yauch didn't rush anyone along and the Virgin staff were chill, so it was nice.

I'm not sure how Yauch signed other people's dvds, but he wrote very personalized messages to both Pooty and Laver. And, most notable, he signed his name "Adam Yauch" instead of "MCA." I can't remember ever seeing him sign anything with his proper name before.

If you were in the city and didn't go to the signing, you missed something special.



P.S. For Klepto...Yauch was wearing the puffy coat.
