Even his brother is jumping ship

The brother of presidential candidate Sen. John McCain said Friday he'll withdraw from campaign activities after calling 911 to complain about traffic. Joe McCain also apologized for making the call.

The GOP candidate's younger brother, who lives in Alexandria, Va., told Washington radio station WTOP he was returning from a campaign event in Philadelphia around 2 a.m. on Oct. 18 when he got stuck in traffic on Interstate 495 at the Wilson Bridge.

Frustrated because of the traffic, he called 911 to find out what was going on. The operator asked him to "state your emergency."

yes because leaving with a week and half to go will really make an impact... I'm sure it has nothing to do with wanting to jump off the ship before it sinks...

they always say the rats are the first to jump ship.

The most unfortunate part for McCain is how much his brother sounds like him. What a tool.

That's why you drive to either the end of the blue/orange line if you're coming in from VA, park, and then metro the rest of the way.

I would never drive in DC during rush hour. It's frustrating, and gets you home just as fast as Metro does. I find it funny that he's calling in traffic, though...I mean, shit, is that his first time in DC or what?! It's a standstill pretty much ALL of the time, regardless of construction. I remember one time I was actually scared when there was NO traffic, I remember thinking "What if there was a terrorist attack and everyone has already fled, and I'm heading right into the red zone?"

So yeah. Calling the police to tell them there's traffic in DC is pretty much like calling an astronomer and telling him you see stars in the sky.
