$500, plus a possibility of $4000 tax credit for college. The only problem with that is they'll give you the lifetime learning credit ONLY if you're going to school in the United States. I wasn't eligible for it last year, so I didn't get my full refund.
Then again, I'm not working in the US now, so any tax credits wouldn't really be relevant from this year on, either. It would have been useful LAST year when I was working until August and then went to school from Sept - Dec, but now it just doesn't matter. I still have to file, but Canada takes my tax money mostly. I dunno how it works really, there's some kind of NAFTA agreement about how they divvy it up.

it all depends on where and whether i get a job after law school. are student loan repayments deductible? that makes a big difference too actually. i hope they are. obama went to law school (a very expensive one no less), you'd think he'd be sympathetic
