My first Halloween in Los Angeles...going to a comedian party and then maybe the crazy gay West Hollywood block party thing. It sounds nuts. I want drugs for it.

My costume is ttly sluttier than I meant it to be. I don't know why I didn't realize it when I was buying all the stuff to put it together. I'm excited though. But I wish I was being Dean Learner instead of Smurfette.

I have all this nervous energy today at work because I'm so excited about it! Only one person dressed up at work and we are still having a Halloween party with like a shitload of booze apparently. Most of these are all like producers in their 30s and 40s and we are going to sit around and drink Bloody Marys? I don't know.

I am totally gonna win the pumpkin decorating though

i went to a halloween special hosted by a research part of the organisation i work for.

they create street games. anyone can join.

the first game involved being split up and dropped off in different areas of the city with a card. on the card was your sound - screamer, werewolf, monster or ghost. you had to run around the city making your sound until you found the other people in your team. then when you were all together you had to put your cards up together to read a message telling you the secret location at the end. and then run shouting your noise all together. i was a screamer and i got a lot of funny looks, ahahaha. but it was great great fun. simple yet effective.

in another game we had pdas and headphones. we were either werewolves or vampires but we didn't know who else was on our teams. the pda would whisper "there's a werewolf/vampire nearby" if the pda picked up that they were within 20 or so metres. if you were near someone in your team you levelled up, if not, level down. the aim of the game was to get lots of your team and then ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK people in the other team for max points. i'm sure we ended up attacking someone using their mobile phone purely because it looked like they had a pda, ahaha.

another game was this huge human snakes and ladders-type thing in a multi storey car park involving hiding bourne-stylee behind walls/cars from people hunting you with bells on their clothes, picking up bits of coloured card and lots and lots of 'creative cheating'.. it's a bit difficult to explain.

and a few more games inside at the lab. it was very fun indeed. free booze if you wanted it, and you got to meet loads of people and die horribly infront of strangers.. fab.
