thought I'd share that. But the guy running the poll who took my information had those huge cock eyes, you know where you have no Idea If hes looking at you in one eye or checking out that chick across the room with the other one, man this isnt cool. He better of got my shit straight.

cockeyed people can usually see things alright. I think.

I'm voting tomorrow and I just realized that the polling place is directly behind my house at a church. I mean like I can walk out my back gate and I'm there. pretty awesome. I hope they have "I voted today" stickers.

I still have my "I voted/Yo vote" sticker from '06. Unfortunately, they don't send you new voting stickers along with your absentee ballot. Buncha cheap bastards.

I got a ticket for talking on my cell phone while driving in 2004 when I called my mom to let her know I voted.

More than likely I'll ride my bike to the polling place...exercise to exercise your rights!

Is it just me or is it creepy that voting takes place in churches?!

It shouldn't happen, it is a violation of separation of church and state.

Where do you vote in churches? In small towns where there are no schools, perhaps?

I'm voting in a church! in the basement. they cleared it out, the alley was filled with old desks and organs and broken toys. I wish I could've grabbed some stuff, but most of the good things got taken. plus there was an angry bum out there half the time yelling at people when they took stuff. :/

My co-worker here right in West Los Angeles is voting in a church and we were talking about how messed up that was today. So to answer your question, yeah in urban areas you vote in churches. My polling place is an elementary school.

I voted in an elementary school in 2004 and it's going to be another school this year

Churches (urban, rural or otherwise) are common places for polling stations. Just as much as elementary schools.

Typically, elections officials try to place polls in the closest areas to neighborhoods. If it's not an elementary school or a community hall (I've voted in both), then it's going to be a church. Sorry to the atheists, but it's a common locale.
