Smart Cars are pretty gay, yes.
Why are these economical cars so fucking tiny? Who'd want to be seen in one? The only people who drive them are women, and men who are under the thumb. Kinda like how the only people you see walking Yorkshire Terriers are women, or men who look like they'd really rather be at the pub.
And don't give me that excuse that being small somehow makes them more economical. Surely the bigger the car, the less room there is for other cars to park, thus reducing the amount of cars on the planet. In fact, why don't these economical car designers just design a car the size of France that can run off the power generated by a wind turbine the size of Italy? Then there'd only be room for 15 or 16 cars on the planet at any one time, and we could wave goodbye to global warming forever.

I'm all for alternative modes of transport: but I just don't understand what these guys were thinking. OK runs on air - got it - sorta gay. But make it look like a Clown Car that might actually have a hookup for helium baloons in the back? Really?

yeah, I don't really get why eco-friendly cars have to be so damn ugly. can't they make one that looks cool for once? does anybody really want to drive around in a stupid plastic bubble?

I've never really cared what my car looks like as long as it gets me from point a to point b. I drive a saturn for pete's sake. I'd buy one of the eco cars in a second. My problem with them is that they're so darn expensive.

Christ on a crutch, I am so glad I am not a guy so I don't have to worry that every goddamn thing I wear or eat or drive or whatever is somehow sending coded messages about my penis size and/or sexual preferences to everyone else on earth.

All I want to do is drive my gas-guzzling Ford Pickup directly head on into it and shatter that plastic bubble into a thousand pieces whilst severly injuring anyone stupid enough to drive it.

Aren't cars this style really popular outside the U.S.?
I know Nissan has some weird ones...Nissan Micra (http://autozone4cars.com/autozonenewweb/images/31695.jpg)
This is just a little stale in style for me but the concept of using air is amazing.
I actually like the style of the Suzuki SX4 crossover, it is extremely popular in my area. For now I'll stick to my 2001 Altima, it's a nice ride, nice interior, and will make a great family car.
