Obama's grandmother has passed.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's grandmother died of cancer, he said in a statement on Monday, a little more than a week after he interrupted the White House campaign to say goodbye to her in Hawaii.

"It is with great sadness that we announce that our grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died peacefully after a battle with cancer," Obama said in a joint statement with his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng. "She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength and humility."

The balls on this guy to tell people to give an extra 3% of their income to help those who need it more.
Yet his own Aunt & Uncle, whom he had no problem profiting from in writing about them in his book, live in the projects of Boston.

Grandpas die at age 72 all the time too, yet for some reason if McCain died and I said, "At least McCain's grandkids can be consoled by *insert random relative who they barely even know here*," I'm sure you'd throw a hissy fit about how disrespectful that is. Either way, we need to start a war on cancer. It kills more people than terrorism per year, so why aren't we funding cancer research more than we are? Oh, because all our money's in Iraq. Whoops!

I know. Just seeing how close he was with his grandmother, it's gotta be a really tough time for him right now. When my grandma passed, yeah, she was 86 too, but it still hurt just the same. It doesn't matter whether it's their time or not.

I'm sure Obama's strength is a virtue she instilled in him so his continuing to push would be smiled upon by her.

Even though he tries to keep it professional he cannot keep from sharing something about her with his audience.

It is quite human to share what touches you and I'm thankful he doesn't hide that.
