I have a little weird japanese tea set that I keep out for decoration on top of the microwave. and now somebody's put it in the cupboard, hidden away. and I don't know why or who did it. it's possible it was put there awhile ago and I just didn't notice.
anyway, I'm putting it back.

I had a housemate that considered my ornamental objects 'clutter' perhaps yours is the same. They may have tried to restrain themselves for a time but after a while just couldn't resist.

You should not put things on top of microwaves anyway; It's bad for them.

ever lived in a house where people leave notes for each other?
"Dear WHOEVER. I noticed the teapot has been MOVED and put somewhere it shouldn't. This is MY teapot and I would appreciate people not touching my things. I don't want to make a big thing about it but how would I like it if you touched your stuff?"
^not saying you are or should be like that but I've ben to places like that.
"Dear EVERYONE. The toilet roll is out AGAIN, and it is NOT my turn to buy any. Lets make it a pleasant place to live and we all do our fair share OK???????
"Dear Note-Girl. We are out of note paper"

ugh, I would never leave a note like that! I left a note for a roommate like 2 years ago, it was upbeat, but basically said, "you're loading the dishwasher wrong, stop it". she took it really poorly and wrote me a big long email rant about it being passive aggressive and stuff like, "why don't you tell me to my face". we resolved it, she admitted to overreacting. and I never left a note again. my old roommates that moved out were note-writers. nothing mean, but still kind of annoying.
we write notes at work all the time, but they are usually funny. you just have to get used to walking in from time to time to find a note from the boss that says stuff like, "THIS LOOKS LIKE SHIT! FIX IT OR DIE!" and then you feel bad for a second, but realize he's just like that and you can't take it personally.
anyway, I still haven't solved the mystery! I'm putting it back out today though, so we'll see if it disappears again.

I lived in an apartment with people like this and let me tell you it drove me FUCKING INSANE. Why can't people talk directly to one another?
They also had a fucking dry erase thing near the front door for "messages",

Dylan Moran gave some great advice on how to deal with note-writers:
"People who complain about smoking remind me of the people I used to live with who left notes. 'Please can somebody put the bin out in the area marked bins, Tina'. I used to leave a few notes for Tina myself - 'Dear Tina, everybody hates you. Even people you haven't met yet. Your Mum called just to say she's glad you haven't been in touch'."

one time last year one of my roommates went on a cleaning tirade and left a note in the kitchen serving as a reminder for people to put their dishes in the washer and such, and specifically pointed me out.
i was so pissed about that because i was the only person who always cleaned up their stuff when cooking. not to mention that i hardly cooked at all the previous couple weeks to that because i was working so much.
the douche always liked to blame me for being the dirty one in the house when i always kept my messes contained in my own room
