I've owned FFfRV twice and it took me forever to get into it. So much so that I sold it and then tried it again 5+ years later and was sold. I've had Plastic Surgery Disasters but the only song that I can remember was Forest Fire- Though I didn't hate the rest of it. Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death was total Fail aside from "Kinky Sex Makes the World Goes Round". I'm not really sure which LP had the Piano standup bass version of California Über Alles- But I liked that
I think I'll give LARD a spin. Heard little about them and not one song. So that's good enough for me. Thanks

wasn't that album more or less a "best of" kind of thing? i seem to recall more or less every song from fresh fruit for rotting vegetables being on there

Try The Power of Lard (http://www.lastfm.de/music/Lard/_/The+Power+of+Lard). The best one :)

The guy who took over lead vocals in 2001 is the office supervisor at the reality show I work on. True story.

Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables is probably the most consistent album but Moon Over Marin off Plastic Surgery Disasters is probably my personal favourite track.

I found both records with the Melvins very good. I love "Never Breathe What You Can’t See". Enchanted Thoughtfist is an awesome track. Sieg Howdy is a good one, too, if a bit on the "Akey breaky heart side". "Last Scream of the missing neighbours" with the DOA has Full Metal Jackoff, a 13 minute romp with freightening lyrics, considering the 1991 release date and how many predictions intended a satire became true.
