that was pretty funny. it seems back then he held the same opinion on the beastie boys as everyone else did. 3 out of control jerks.

i can see where he's coming from though, he clearly had career in mind at that age, whereas the bboys are doing whatever they want not caring or thinking anything in terms of longevity. its pretty simple to blame the beastie boys for the way rap was treated back then but but misguided.

and today all parties have matured and love each other.

Ha!

Funny shit. LL was heated.

That was a back in the day type of shit. LL has gone on record saying that if it wasn't for Adrock giving his Demo to Rick Rubin his career might of never jumped off.

Remember that song LL did for the Deep Blue soundtrack? "Deepest Bluest (Shark's Fin)"

"My hat is like a sharks fin" hook?

That shit was WEAK!

Here's a recent LL interview where he's discussing his earliest days -it's pretty heavy.

He namechecks the Beasties as helping him to get a deal in it.

I can't watch the youtube video until I get home later. LL's done some sick hip hop records along with his fair share of pop nonsense, but he usually comes across as pretty sincere. If he's talking about his first impressions of the beastie boys then I'm sure it's fair to say that a lot of hardcore hip hop heads didn't quite get them at first.

Nah, it wasnt that. He said he respected them but he was pissed because them breaking "Every law in every state" made it harder for him to do his show without getting harassed by local law enforcement. He almost sounded scared to diss them outright...He knew how much money they were making his boss and I guess he didnt want to rock the boat and start a big beef.

Damn, LL still looks good for a man of his advanced years.

It's hard for me to believe that the Beastie Boys are going around causing a ruckus like this. They look like such nice young men.

Only if when I say "JT" you think of Justin Timberlake, not James T. Kirk.

I hear a lot of sarcasm in his voice.
