i literally cannot think of a more disingenuous thing to say to a person

except maybe "you're one of the good ones"

I'm a former delivery driver and I've heard that fake term so much. I get to their house in a hurry with piping hot fresh food and get shafted from a tip.

Instead I get a fake ass smile and a thank you so much.

It doesn't change. Where I work, delivery dudes on bikes show up early with like 10 other deliveries they have to make. They stay outside the building waiting for the people who ordered for 5 minutes or longer. Their customers come down, "I'm sooo sorry, thank you so much for waiting" and blammo- no tip on top of it.

"i'd be happy to" should be pretty high on the list.

seriously. saying "thanks so much" is sort of the equivalent of saying "with all due respect," it's just the social way of saying "fuck you". if you want to thank someone, you say "thank you" or maybe "thanks".

i don't think i've ever, ever heard someone say "thanks so much" when they really, genuinely intend to thank someone. why add the "so much" to the end? unnecessary. i hate that phrase.

I just thanked you in that other thread by sating 'thanks bob' so that means more as I am mentioning your name that your parents gave you which is more worthy in respect and straight outta Mr Roger's neighborhood effect no eject(y)

excellent equalvilent to the with all due respect.

Guys tell me that when they want to gawk at the mrs.

"with all due respect, your wife is very beautiful" while their eyes are locked onto her chest like laser beams.

With all due respect, you better have made sure you've wiped your ass before my foot got lodged into it.

so you are saying that people actually say too many words here?

While being fake, they are. I mean, if they can tell me as being respectful then I'll accept the compliment from them.

But if they sit there like cavemen with eyes locked on like tractor beams, then they should just grunt as cavemen.

Cavemen and tractor beams have gone together since the dawn of time machines.
