I think it may have something to do with my parent’s politics and world view when I was coming up…I've been subliminally conditioned...and the fact that American cars are by and large garbage…boxes on wheels...(y)

Me neither...

and to date...I have owned 14 different cars.

I am a car whore, every six months or so I get a new one.

By far Range Rover has been the best...

I was raised in a somewhat motorhead family that has owned nothing but American makes.

My favorite car or should I say truck was my dad's 72 el camino in which he had painted black and put a gold starsky and hutch stripe on it and also put a 454 with a hurst 4 speed shifter.

All the cars I've owned were American makes as well, except for one. These cars were nothing to brag about but I did dog the hell out of them and they've lasted long.

1979 Plymouth horizon
1978 AMC AMX
1978 Chrysler labaron
1992 chevy s-10
1989 Lincoln town car
1996 volkswagon jetta
1998 Pontiac grand am
and another 1989 Lincoln town car

If I ever do get another car, with gas prices as they are, I'd seriously consider another VW, a GTI at that.

Of all my cars, something about the VW was the most pleasant to drive, even though I'm a huge fan of the 89 town car.

But where I live, I will never buy a car.
