I'd like to see its price at least tripled, to discourage our reliance upon cars. Also, to better reflect its scarcity. It's not going to last forever.

Goes to show it was just a big ass dash for cash, we got ripped!
This artificial inflation of gas prices fucked a ton of people out of food, work, heat, and I'm sure many other things.
I want my fucking money back

i still find it amusing that gas here in PA is about 30 cents more than it is in ohio.
and even where im at right now, home to the first oil refineries in the world, its still more than a lot of places.
that being said, the gas station up the road here is $1.99. back home the best i could do was $2.19
$1.67. Its been going down one to three cents every couple of days here and it makes me want to put gas in my car every time I see it that cheap no matter how little I need. Who knows when its going to rise again and if it will just be a huge jump or gradually get higher again.
What I don't understand is how gas stations that are literally across the street from each other have such a huge difference in price and why anyone would want to go the gas station that has the higher price. I guess the quality of gas(?)

I'm still trying to figure out why it's gone down, whether it's due to deflation or just that people aren't buying because they can't afford it anymore?
Either way, it's 76 cents a litre here, which is the lowest I've ever seen it in the past 2.5 years.

lower demand + lower prices for Crude Oil= lowest gas prices since 2006
you should be thanking Bush for putting you into a recession...
the gas prices are tumbling!
i'm always confused by the commodity reports in the news. when the gas prices were rising, the papers were always like "the price of oil has gone up to blah blah blah per barrel" like that was a bad thing. i understood that, that made sense. but now that we're in a recession, the papers are like "the price of oil has dropped to blah blah per barrel (that's one less blah)" which would surely be...a...good...thing? if rising barrel prices were a bad thing, i mean. but the story still carries the same ambience of doom and gloom at it did when prices were rising, so i don't know.
someone tell me how i'm supposed to feel about the price per barrel of crude oil
All news is bad news, bob.

it was artificial inflation! /obvious
the next time it shoots up so high (over $100 a barrel, bob) it will be because the supply is starting to actually dwindle a bit

I figured they were gouging us to hell in the summer, but what's the reason for it going down now? Less demand? The economy crashing? I mean, it's not the normal few cents drop that comes every winter, this shit just plummeted at a startling rate.

^ the newest batch of speculators graduated from community college?
i'm beginning to think that the market price for a barrel of oil has nothing to do with anything but what a couple monkeys in a room think it should be
