2 years ago the same shit happened. Store fights, shouting, and even one dude avoided getting shot at the parking lots. Sometimes people need the tear gas and hardcore discipline beatdown back to the litho ages.

I just don't understand the whole "Black Friday" get up @ 4am to be at the store by 5am mentality.
The stores usually run the same sales again before christmas. No need to get up @ 4am on my day off of work.

If I were commissioner of the world I would force stores who ran these types sales to provide heated shelter and at least coffee & snacks for the people willing to come to their store at whatever god-awful hour they're asking you to be there. You always hear about the people who sleep out for three days in order to get the "it" toy that year, i.e. Cabbage Patch Dolls or Wii's or whatever. The stores should have to do something for the people. It's been said Barama is going to be a borderline socialist, maybe he should look at doing something to prevent such circumstances like this from happening.

Also, this type of violence isn't new. It seems like it's getting worse every year. If you are in whatever management role at a store that runs one of these sales and you see a crowd forming that you don't think your staff is going to be able to control, you should call the Police for assistance.
That store and the management are absolutely responsible for the safety of it's employees and should be held responsible for this.

I hate shopping. To go shopping armed with the knowledge it will be the busiest most crowded day of the year is insanity. Then add to it I'm at Wal-Mart, well, then it's pure fucking hell.

And Rob is right, this crap will all be the exact same price or lower before Christmas, even better, a gift card will really wield the power at the "Going Out of Business" sales after the holiday hustle is over.

my aunt works at kmart and she had to work this morning at 5 a.m., when my uncle dropped her off, he said there were already hundreds of people in line.

seems nutzo to me. I got up early once or twice with my mom when I was a teenager to go shopping, but we soon decided it was ridiculous and not fun. and not worth it at all. you just end up buying more than you need anyway.

2 Dead In Shooting At Toys 'R' Us In Palm Desert
PALM DESERT (CBS) ― Two people were shot and killed Friday at a Toys "R" Us store in Palm Desert.

Police responded to the store near the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Highway 111 after calls began coming in around 11:30 a.m.

Palm Desert Councilman Jim Ferguson says police told him two men with handguns shot and killed each other.

An argument reportedly broke out between two female shoppers just before the shooting.

A witness reportedly yelled, "He's got a gun," as a man who was with one of the two women opened fire.

Daniel Watson rushed to the scene when he received a frantic call from his wife, who was inside the store at the time of the shooting.

Sarah Pacia of Cathedral City says she was in the store with her two boys, ages 4 and 6, looking at coloring books when she heard a commotion in the next aisle. She thought it was people rushing to get a sale item. Then she heard three or four shots.

She said she froze, and store employees calmly escorted her out of the store.

Immediately after the shooting, about 20 people rushed into the World Gym across the street from Toys 'R' Us.

The store's parking lot was surrounded by yellow police tape.

Toys"R" Us issued a statement expressing its outrage "by the act of violence" and "the fact that anyone would compromise the safety and security of our customers and employees."

"We are working closely with local law enforcement officials to determine the specific details of what occurred," the statement said. "Our understanding is that this act seems to have been the result of a personal dispute between the individuals involved. Therefore, it would be inaccurate to associate the events of today with Black Friday."

Walmart is most definitely complicit in this murder, watch this video...very little crowd control, security, safety measures. All employees and patrons should expect a safe environment to work and shop. These crowds are known to come, they should properly prepare for them.
