Meatloaf, to me, is one of the ultimate comfort foods. Plus, it actually has the option of adding healthy ingredients instead of just being a bunch of fattening crap - like macaroni and cheese usually turns out to be. Of course, remember... all things in moderation - even moderation. Here's the recipe for my sister's meatloaf and let's see a couple of your favorite meatloaf recipes - if you can dig 'em up.
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs of ground extra-lean turkey
1 cup milk
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 large egg
1 tsp dried sage
0.5 tsp salt
0.5 tsp ground mustard seed
0.25 tsp pepper
1 finely chopped garlic clove
3 slices of bread, torn into small pieces
0.5 cup of ketchup
1 cup mozzarella cheese
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix all ingredients except for ketchup and cheese. Layer half of meat mixture in meatloaf pan (9x13 casserole dish). Sprinkle the cheese on top of this half. Layer remaining meat on top. Cook for 1 hour 15 minutes. Once done cooking, cover with ketchup.
BAM! Did I mention meatloaf is ridiculously easy? 'Cause it is...
