i don't have many friends around here, and none of them are having any parties (or at least, none that i'm invited to/know about) so i'm probably kind of stuck here by myself

i could go out by myself but i really don't like doing that. i mean what will i do? i go out in the cold and the snow to a crowded-ass bar, wait forever to get a drink because nobody notices me, and then stand there drinking by myself and hoping somebody will pay attention to me only they don't because i'm the creepy loser that went to a bar by himself and i just feel worse about myself than if i'd stayed in and just drank by myself alone in my apartment, so i'm probably just going to save some time and do that

I live in an apartment complex that has it's own bar (which open on christmas eve) and tonight it's full to the brim with party people and I can hear all of it. I swear it's fricking taunting me to go out but like you said, who wants to go out on their own?

I have a crate of beer and some bubbly but sitting here and drinking it on my own sounds rubbish. I might sneak a bottle in at 12 though.

blah, I kinda just want to go to sleep, but I know I'll feel bad if I do nothing. I've got a guaranteed party to attend, but my ex will be there and I'd like to avoid drama/trauma. I could do karaoke with my coworker/new best friend/adopted little brother and his girlfriend and a bunch of people I don't know, which is probably the most fun option, but also the most awkward because I won't know anyone besides my coworker. also, I think everyone will be a good 5-8 years younger than me.

I most likely will meet up with a couple of my girlfriends and get drunk and force them to go to karaoke and the party, and finish it off with barging in on some friends in pajamas who are boycotting the festivities. or just get drunk.

I stayed in with a couple of girlfriends until 1:30 a.m., then went to a party due to popular demand. I walked 2 miles because I couldn't catch a cab. no drama, lots of hugs and dancing. I kissed 2 boys. not at the same time. I'm pretty sure I'm still drunk.

I went out and in some ways I wish I hadn't. I had a great time but for some reason I just feel blue today. I don't think I did or said anything stupid other than the usual showering people with compliments and generally acting like some kind of overstimulated puppy. I sort of feel like I just want to be by myself for awhile. I'm glad tomorrow's Friday and I get to stay home all weekend.

My New Years trumps all of yours. Mine involved me having the first new years eve in 8 years without my soon to be ex-wife (for reasons still unknown to me). It involved me driving a u-haul towing a car 30 hours pretty much straight from colorado to VA. Moving back to my parents basement and going out with my sister and some friends only to probably bring everyone down. 2009!!!! FUCK YEAH!

I started off the night running a 5k thing with my family and hit the finish line at the stroke of midnight...(I ran about half the distance). I also had a healthy amount of rum in my stomach before starting.

Went to a gay party with lots of gays and fag hags

and ended with very pleasant times with my old high school crush. We were up till 8 am!

What was supposed to be a fairly boring NY turned out pretty well...

I just went to a club night thing, held at a bigger venue - really good views of the city. I made friends with a bartender, three girls complimented my dress, one of the bouncers had Rick James hair and I kissed an Italian boy. I might see him again, numbers were exchanged.

New Years day was much better though - an ex-fuck of mine txtd in the arvo and we hit a few bars with his mates and then we went back to his apartment and had a smoke and then yeah. Right up there with xmas eve as one of the biggest/best nights I've had in recent memory.
