Just reread the "33 1/3" gem "Paul's Boutique" by Dan LeRoy. That shit's 33 1/3% God if you ask me. Wow. First time I read it since I initially received it a couple years ago. While I can't believe how much amazing information I forgot from my first reading, it's just impossible to retain the amount of tasty history, right down to the details, that this little bboy bible contains within it's pages.
My point, is to urge anyone with eyes and ears to (re)read this book in glorious anticipation of the Paul's Boutique remaster heading for our brains later this month. Seriously, if you've already read it, trust me, you haven't read it enough. It's like a whole new experience the 2nd time around. And if you haven't experienced Dan LeRoy's grand teastament to PB, well, then I feel sorry for you my friend.
This book has got me so pumped to re-hear this classic, not to mention granted me a fresher, more revealing perspective in which to listen to it, and I'm just trying to spread the love.
Do me the favor of doing yourselves a favor.
Read this book,

Some shit in it is wrong, though. I'm gonna have to re-read it to be sure, but a couple of little factoids weren't right.

I read it a couple months ago, bought it off Amazon. Its a fantastic book and it paints a great picture of how much fun those guys had making the record. There was a lot of stuff in there I was surprised at, mainly at how much damn money they spent on video games and shit. Really funny, entertaining, worthwhile read.

Yes people, this is the incentive I'm talking about. Follow this man's lead.(y)
Kid P, never realized that your signature is lifted straight from the book's text. That's the spirit.(y)

yeah, right there with ya brother - with the exciting remastered re-release around the corner I got all excited and ordered this a few weeks ago!
:D
my copy arrived in the mail yesterday!

Should be starting on it with all due haste- but I do want to savor it a bit. Really looking forward to it AND what looks to be an incredibly Beastie-centric '09. Big things are definitely happening!
Can we preemptively call '09 the year of the Beastie- or is that an end of the year kinda thing? Cause I'm so there right now- although my friends would offer the counter argument that almost every year turns into the year of the Beastie for me of late. True, but still the past has been leading up to awesomeness of this year. Man I can feel it. Very exciting times we livin' in!

loved it.
Hadn't know about that other dude Matt (walsh?) who was holed up in his bedroom with records and then popping out time to time with gems.

I preordered the remastered CD and LP from Amazon and I got an email stating that the LP release date is still Jan. 27, but the Cd has been pushed back to Feb. 10.

Is it just the thing now that vinyl (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B001NJY670/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance) and cd (http://www.amazon.com/Pauls-Boutique-20th-Anniversary-Beastie/dp/B001NJY66Q/ref=mb_oe_a) have different release dates? Or has it been pushed back for some reason?
