Well the M.R.I results have come back and it turns out this (http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x265/mcmoot/fuckdfoot.jpg) is a partial tear of my Achilles tendon…so the verdict is no sports for 4 months…this means I’m fucked for skiing this winter, fucked for basketball, fucked for squash…these things are how I survive the winter…I’m so bummed…I been working the physio for over a month, it hurts but the man has a plan and I’m sticking to it…I’m determined and depressed…I live in the village wherever I go I walk to…my quality of life is in the pits…the pain is constant, the frustration unbearable…anyone ever do in their Achilles?...I could use some good news about recovery time…I have to able to run and hike by spring…but I’ve heard estimates of 9months…and then there is the vanity…I’ve never thought myself to be vain in the least but I feel pretty self conscious about walking around with this stupid cane (http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x265/mcmoot/cane.jpg)…but it’s part of the recovery process it helps you to rebuild your gait…I’m down, really down, how can you laugh when you know I’m down?…I think I should get a sword cane…that would be fun…tea and sympathy, please…
dude, I feel for ya. I've done it before. My ankles are made of chocolate now because they are so weak. I have no good news on recovery time. I'm always hurting them now. I actually twinged when looking at ya pic.
Do ALL the exercises! Recovering to as strong as possible should be number one priority.
One thing I found I could do before walking is cycling. Less stress assuming you miss all the pot holes and keep it smooth. But don't break too hard. But that'll be a month or so in my experience before I'd say its safe to trying.
Get an indoor hobby.
Ok, I failed at any cheer up there.
What is brown and sticky?
A stick!

Just out of curiosity, how many of the sustained ankle injury's happened whilst intoxicated?

Easier to count while not intoxicated - erm once. When I originally done my first ankle - left.
I go to a lot of gigs, punk mainly so I'm just there to spend the rest of the night in A&E.
