that's right, fuckos. The mrs. has left to china for a 20 day vacation which means I'll have all the time in the world to waste my boredom here.
So, keep me entertained, do something, say what you want or post a pic of what you want, hence the reason I've posted this in sureshots.
If you cease to keep me entertained, I may have to stray from this board and induce fapping.
Do it now, or I'll poplock yer asses up!!

yeah, I don't know where it came from. Maybe just out of my boredom. I'm creatiff like that.
She got there safe. All's good. I'm very happy for her and not even jealous. She's been working with only 2 days off for the whole 3 years she's been here.
I think it's a very stressful decision to cram all of those odd hour work days with barely no release but a reward of 20 days off with pay fits in very well.
BTW, those horrible divorce talk threads are file 13. We're peas and asparagus. Don't expect me to say carrots. It's fucking asparagus man.

hey, fuck produce croak. Can you recommend me a good fretted bass within the price range of $400?
I've seen a good selection of "Squires", they were actually well crafted, interesting finishes and all but generic looking at the same time.
I'll go ahead and pay the extra two hundred bones for something decent and trusted.

random thought: am i the only person who thinks guitar hero is corny? i have no desire to play it... i've tried it a few times and i just don't think it's fun at all.
and what's with all the charaters that are in the "band"...it looks pretty silly seeing some wrestler with corpse paint and a flying V playing a mars volta song

It's only fun when you play with a friend. Except of course in Rockband when I get to play drums on So Whatcha Want.

It's pretty wonderful, honestly. It's a great playing bass, so much so that I haven't picked up my guitar in about a week. It really doesn't look like most basses, and I ended up paying 450 at guitar center. I'm sure you could find them cheaper.

I ended up getting a black Fender Jazz bass. Paid 478 for it. It was great, the store owner already had the action lowered on it and everything.

Oh damn. I wanted one of those babies a few years ago when I figured bass playing was gonna be my "thing". Now that I'm more of guitar player, I just needed something to put on my songs, and my old broke-down p-bass copy wasn't cutting it anymore. I really want to get a Fender Mustang bass. Short scale ftw.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. I had a Squire P bass as my first one, loved it. Played many gigs in Cincy and Cleveland with it.
The action was a little high, I could have lowered it but I was too busy getting high myself and not caring about it. Just having fun.
This Jazz bass isn't the Jazz bass, it's Mexican made. I surely got what I paid for, it's a very smooth playing bass. I'm trying to get back into pluckin' and poppin' but it barely takes any effort with it.
Right now I'm just finger strumming, trying to re-callous my fingers. As you said, it's cool to take a break from my guitar and doing something different.
But yeah, here's my guitar and pedals and recorder.

all i can offer are the hero guitars from my mum
Once I get my camera I'll be able to post my current gear. For now I'll post these pics from 4-5 years ago
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v12/soulxforxhire/guitar.JPG
My second guitar, my first was actually a Danelectro that I wish I still had. I traded the Dano for this, a Crestwood strat copy that had pretty good action but horrible frets. I still have scars from where the fret ends cut into my fingers. I traded that guitar for...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v12/soulxforxhire/guitar.jpg
...this. This is a Samick telecaster copy and one of the best telecasters I've ever played. I stupidly traded this for a broken acoustic when i decided I didn't want to play a telecaster anymore.
Around that time, I custom ordered a red Squier strat from my local music store. Duncan pickups dropped in the neck and bridge, a PAF and a Super Distortion, I believe. Sounded better than any guitar I've ever played, and I regret trading it. But, I figured I couldn't be a rock star with a strat, so I got...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v12/soulxforxhire/guitaramp.jpg
...this. a Magnum Les Paul copy. Notice the trend in copies? This actually wasn't too bad. It had a nice wine red finish and a great figured top. The pickup selector cut out a lot, but if I kept it at the bridge position, I wouldn't have too many problems with it. Getting this guitar actually coincided with me dropping out of college and not doing anything for about a year. Kind of a "lost year", I passed time playing guitar in my room, hanging out with friends, working maybe two days a week and not doing anything with my life. I also wasted a lot of time here and other online endeavors. I'm glad those days, as well as the guitar, are gone.
In that pic, you can also see my Fender Frontman 25 amp. I've had that amp for about four years now, and it's been a wonderful little amp. I always seem to turn to it when I need to record, and it doesn't disappoint.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v12/soulxforxhire/big_mess.jpg
Here are two amps I used to have. The smaller one was fried one afternoon cause I rock too hard, and the larger Crate amp was given to a friend.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v12/soulxforxhire/bass.JPG
Here's the aforementioned bass, back in it's stickered glory. I've since peeled all of the stickers off, and the things been bashed around so much that I'm surprised it's still in one piece, much less in working condition.
I'll most more recent pics if I can find my camera.

A huge thumbs up for getting that bass.
She loves it. I finger strummed some jazz riffs for her and she was all "my god, teach me, I want to learn" and just going crazy inspecting the bass.
Bass is what I first wanted to learn. So much rumble behind your actions. So many things you can do with it without assistance of a pick. Just you going at it barebacked.
I think I'll buy here a keyboard soon. That's her release. She's fabulous on a set of keys.
Also, I'll buy her a bass. Nothing beats the thrill of learning an instrument that's well crafted and all yours.
