Or at least a good chunk of them. (http://www.oneplusyou.com/bb/view2/countries)

I got 73, with 197 remaining. Quite tough because you have to able to type quickly and accurately, but fun nonetheless.

Countries I got (scroll over for those who want to cheat): Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chad, Chile, China, Congo, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greenland, Haiti, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Japan, Jersey, Kenya, Kuwait, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Niger, Nigeria, North Korea, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Rwanda, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Tobago, Trinidad , Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City, Venezuela, Vietnam

I did much, much worse than I thought I would, but I am awful at thinking on the spot. I spent a crucial few seconds trying to spell Transnistria, only to remember that it doesn't exist.

There is no such country as "North Korea" or "United Kingdom". The United Kingdom is a nation made up of seperate countries, and North Korea is called the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Correct me if I am wrong on the UK one though.

Also, it accepted "Congo", which doesn't exist, although the Democratic People's Republic of the Congo exists, as well as the Republic of the Congo. Two different countries!

THUS, I will blame my embarassingly low score on the fact that the program is broken.

Spelling things 100% correct is annoying. I can name about a hundred more if i could type faster and spelling mistakes didn't fuck me up.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Thus Great Britain or just Britain is England, Scotland and Wales. The United Kingdom (for short) is England, Scotland and Wales plus Northern Ireland.

The British Isles includes the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands which are technically not part of the United Kingdom, but their citizens hold UK passports and might as well be part of the UK except when they stockpile dirty foreign money in their banks because of their different tax laws. Or something.

I'm sure Wikipedia has a whole thingammybob on it.

I got 73 also. I was banging them out going through Europe, S. America, Asia, then stalled a little on Africa and then picked up a load in the Middle East. Mind went blank in the last minute or so and that was it.

Yeah, but you get to kill people right? I mean... killing people must be more exciting than logo design?

England, Scotland and Wales are all countries, right? I thought that when they formed up they made a nation state, like Voltron, rather than just another lowly country, like Captain Planet.

My understanding was that England, Scotland and Wales are nations and that the UK is a country, but wikipedia says they are all countries :/

This thing also fails to recognise the great nation of Sealand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principality_of_Sealand).

Well, a country is like a landmass, and a nation is like a political thing. Don't trust wikipedia for EVERYTHING because it's written by all the same people. Probably Jews.

I got 92, but missed some really obvious ones. I was also puzzled by the use of "Congo" and "North Korea" as well as their use of "Palestine" which is not a country. Still fun though.

i will try this within the next day or two.

1 thing going well for me, i am an international relations/poli sci student. i am well acclimated with geography and the countries of the world

1 thing going against me. i am a fucking terrible speller. i blame aol instant messenger, spell checker on my miscrosoft word and firefox browser, and gangster rapzzz.

hopefully my mozilla firefox corrects my misspellings of countries though...that would be sick. and in the end it would prove once again, wasting your time learning to spell is for suckers.

I cannot spell anything. And I am so confused over places that I try to combine into one name.

Papua New Guinea
Guyana
French Guiana
Ghana

Liberia
Lebanon
Libya

I think some of these are made up, they sound like avante garde theater groups:
Queen Maud Land
Ross Dependency
Reunion

Drederick Tatum
02-11-2009, 12:37 PM
yeah, the list of countries on there is pretty suspect.

Nuzzolese

I bet Ross Dependency is just a small island that was bought by a rich land tycoon named Ross so he could claim a thousand or so people as "dependants" on his tax return. That genius!
