Two pretty actresses who play pretty girls. My bf thinks Isla Fisher is much hotter, and I agree that she seems sluttier and therefore sexier, but I think Amy Adams is prettier and more talented so I like her more.
Isla Fisher was in Wedding Crashers and now in the new movie Confessions of a Shopaholic - which looks awful by the way and I'm really going to try to see it.
Amy Adams was in Enchanted and Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, and the newish movie, Doubt.
What do you think?

This should have been a sure shots thread.
My vote goes to Isla Fisher in part because of Wedding Crashers but mostly because I think she is the more attractive of the two. However, there is no doubt in my mind that Amy Adams is more talented.
That new movie with Fisher in it, Confessions of a Shopaholic looks like a gigantic piece of sewage. It reminds me a lot of Sex in the City, another poop sandwich show/movie that girls talk about far too much. Nobody's lives are like that no matter how much you think they are.

they totally look similar, I never put the two together though until your post.
I like Amy Adams (http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/2007/11/23-End%20of%20Month/AmyAdams_Grani_6800396_Max.jpg) so much after Enchanted haha. She is SO cute.
Isla Fisher (http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/2008/02/08-15/isla-fisher-picture-2.jpg) is cute too though. I dunno.

ha, I was going to make a thread about this!
I think it's absolutely crazy that there are two actresses out there that look so similar.
I like them both, but I like amy adams better because she is cute as a button and is in better movies.

I hated Isla Fisher in that movie Definitely, Maybe. I really haven't liked any of her movies.
This new Shopaholic movie looks worse than bad, it looks insulting and ill-timed. The book was written in 2003, I think, and was British, so it seems out of context and vaguely in bad taste to laugh about a careless American in credit card debt who somehow lands a job in high corporate finance while herself having no self-control when it comes to borrowing and spending and letting debts pile up. It's not even cute anymore, the whole dizzy rich girl thing. Her redemption would have to be pretty big to make up for embodying that lifestyle in 2009. I wonder if relentless spending and shallow consumerism will start to overshadow sexual promiscuity as the new inexcusable feminine offense. Do you think it could happen?

I loved her in Junebug. Did you know it was originally a play, and that you never actually saw the husband - returning-home character on stage? I could see that, actually, because he does kind of abandon her and his family. He's sort of a non-character.
There are so many topics of discussion that come to mind from that movie.

I've had a crush on Isla Fisher since I was about fourteen, but I've never seen any of her movies. I heard she was in Scooby Doo, but I could be wrong.

Why do we have to pick one? If there can be Chace Crawford and what's his face from High School Musical there can be Amy Adams and Isla Fisher.
I liked Amy Adams in Talladega Nights and as the purse girl in The Office. She's really funny. And Isla held her own with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, you gotta respect that.
For some reason I find Isla Fisher absolutely adorable and I don't really have any sort of negative OR positive feeling toward Amy Adams. I realize she is most likely the most diversified actor between the two, but can't warm up to her. That new movie she's in with the cleaning service may change my opinion though.

No. Men are not turned on by relentless spending and shallow consumerism so there is no need for criticism by either the religious right or feminist left.
Also Isla wins.
