He warbles along with no tune, pompous high school poetry lyrics and ridiculous hair. Why was he ever "important"?

he was so incredibly important to me that i probably wouldn't be the same person without him.

The more you ignore him, the closer he gets.

that's a strange thing to say about someone you've never met.

I seriously don't get it either. The one radio station I listen to has been playing his song "throwing my arms around Paris" and it sounds like every song he's ever written boiled down the the bare potatoes. The whole "nobody loves me" thing has worn pretty thin. He has a very particular vernacular in his lyrics I really can't stand either.

there are a few the smiths and morrissey songs that i love but most songs sound indeed like he threw the sheet of music into a washing machine right before recording cause the order is all fucked up

it's pretty hard or nearly impossible to get into some of his songs and i dont even eat meat!

Perspective, first think bacon (http://bacolicio.us/http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=1646955), then thick about your life. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fx8HTYNb3uU&feature=related).

Awesome stuff.

he's ok , the smiths were brilliant and his early stuff was ok. He's one of a kind but i dont understand the regard some people hold him in. too far. I have seen grown men weep at one of his gigs. that was just beyond comprehension for me.

Agreed, except "high school poetry" is being generous.
